Some windbag I had the unfortunate pleasure of talking to last night (Sat.) was bragging about his $200 bet on the Colts laying the 18 1/2! I told him it was a lot of wood but he blew me off! As the song goes . . "Who's Sorry Now"?

There's one overarching story for the entire NFL season:

Chicago is amazingly good. They will be 8-0 before they face the Giants in the Meadowlands.

Someone is bound to step in and say that Lovie Smith is over-hyped or something similar - just wait. And don't forget Cedric Benson - he should be hitting his peak about now. The Bears are going as far as the NFC final this year.

I will go out on a limb and say that McNabb is a good candidate for MVP this year. True, the second td throw was probably a mistake by that kid who could have intercepted but didn't. True, the last td was all defense, whatever the name of that guy is who was man of the match yesterday.

Andre Reed still surprises me with some of his decisions and indecisions though.

Another MVP candidate should be Rex Grossman.

I wouldn't say that. It was excellent in the first half. All went a bit wrong after the half, though. However, Joe Horn is doing the business with his 2nd TD, and fair play to Brees for finding him again.

I just think on the last 2 eagles TD's they went walkabout. Saints right back in it now, it's going to the wire.

You kicked the crap out of my fantasy team, but it required Eli and Shock to do it, so the fantasy loss isn't so bittersweet

Saints have surprised me this year: they have a lot of talent on either side of the ball. Big surprise for me has been their O Line, they've been outstanding. Reggie Bush is actually contributing a lot more than what I thought he would at the start of the season: his presence has opened up opportunities for other players. Speaking of which, Bush is not, at this time, even the best rookie on his team, which shows how well Marques Colston has been playing.

Gints will certainly a hardened team given their schedule, if they make the playoffs.

My Jets are 3 - 3: think they are the only team in the NFL with that record at this time. Not bad for a team that most picked as having less than 4 wins in total for this season. New head coach Eric Mangini is doing a good job with a roster that has limited talent.

By the way, the various torrrent sites have some of the games posted up at some stage during the week: worth a look and a d/l if there is one game in particular you want to catch up on from the weekend.

Chicago did blow up offensively. Their QB looked an absolute joke.

But fuck me, is there a worse franchise than the Cardinals. Leinhart takes a lot of credit. To not win that is unreal; one of the better games I have ever watched in terms of entertainment, but right down there for actual quality.

Grossman kept on bombing it out there for some reason: when you throw a couple of picks you'd expect him to scale it back and go for the short routes, but he didn't do it, and thus threw more dud balls with long passes.

Leinart did look very good: Arizona suits him down to the ground. He doesn't have the strongest arm, but in Arizona he's not battling the elements. Fantastic start to his career, and made the Chicago D look ordinairy, something that no other team has done this season. Of course, in the end, it was the Chicago defense that won the game: you can't keep a team like that down for the whole game.

Watching a replay of the Jets game at the moment. Most thought we'd be lucky to get 4 wins, and here we are at 3 - 3 for the season, with many more winnable games ahead.

The Falcons-Steelers game was superb - good to see Mora giving Vick a chance to show off his arm strength

The Tampa Bay - Philadelphia game was a real turn up. Amazing.

Saints unfortunate to have a bye this week, when the momentum was with them. I hope they will be as strong next week - I think it's Baltimore up next.

Staying up late tonight for the Giants vs Cowboys game. Should be pretty good.
