I'm still under the impression that it would be better to have Napoli finish 3rd, as it very unlikely Lfc will be unseeded. Seeded- we could play Roma if they finish 3rd.

CSKA job done, so is that us sorted for a seeding if them and Dortmund (and us!) do their job on the weekend?

Last game of the season is Sunday at 1pm. CSKA at home to Anzhi, Zenit away to Lokomotiv Moscow

In addition to this, Dortmund and Hoffenheim games are at 2.30 on Saturday. Hopefully by the time we kick off on Sunday, we'll know that a win will seal a spot among the seeds.

Dortmund- Werder Bremen will be tricky though. I expect Hoffenheim to win comfortably at home ayainsy Augsburg. I think they have to make up for 4 GD if they both win.

Hopefully BVB will be ok, Bremen's form has dipped the last 2 weeks after their amazing run.

And BVB are just as desperate to avoid that spot too. For the same reason!

Dortmund finish 3rd in the Bundesliga with a 4-3 win, and with it a place in the group stages, while Hoffenheim will join in the play off round.

What we need to help us out -
Dortmund and Hoffenheim kick off their last game of the season on Saturday at 2.30pm. If Dortmund match Hoffenheims result, Hoffenheim will finish 4th. Both should win.
CSKA Moscow and Zenit kick off their last game of the season on Sunday at 1pm. CSKA matching Zenit's result means CSKA will be in the 3rd qualifying round instead of Zenit. Both should win.
Ajax to win the Europa League.
Dynamo to lose in the 3rd qualifying round.
Roma need to drop points away to Chievo, or at home to Genoa for Napoli to have any chance of finishing above them.

If any of the above 2 happen, we will be seeded.

So that's 1 out of the 2 things needed done, sounds like CSKA doing their job will see us seeded (provided we win tomorrow of course).

And if CSKA don't finish above Zenit we will have other chances to secure a seeding, first with Ajax in the Europa, then with Roma in Italy and finally with Dynamo Kiev in the qualifying rounds.

Ask Jose Mourinho. Since he is not taking place UEFA decided to have a proper artist do the drawing, after all, Jose has had good practice drawing this season.

So the only teams ranked above us still with a chance to play in the playoff round are Sevilla, Napoli, Dynamo Kiev, Ajax and Zenit?

Meaning any 1 of the following happening = us being seeded if getting 4th? ;

Napoli catching Roma in Serie A (currently 4 points behind  Roma with 2 more game to play, Roma has 1 game left)
Ajax winning the EL final (and qualifying directly for CL group stage)
Ajax failing to win their 3rd round qualifyer after losing EL final
Zenit failing to catch CSKA in the Russian league (currently 1 point behind with 1 game left each)
Zenit failing to win their 3rd round qualifyer (if they catch CSKA in the Russian league)
Dynamo Kiev failing to win their 3rd round qualifyer

Good news we're now guaranteed to be seeded. Our opponents will be one of:

Sporting Lisbon, Viktoria Plzen, CSKA Moscow, Club Brugge, Steaua Bucharest, Young Boys, Hoffenheim, Nice, Istanbul Basaksehir or Beşiktaş, runners-up in Greece

If Ajax beat the Mancs, they qualify for the group stage and Sporting become seeded, meaning another team would be added into the list above...

Seeded, because of other results going our way we're now less likely to play better teams. Just awaiting EL final as to who else is in the unseeded pot (Ajax or not).

Nice is stunning but the stadium is out of the way and you get dropped off "near" then have to fucking walk miles. Fuck that in that heat again.

Well Ajax need to win for more important reasons  ;)

Anyway, to summarize our status, we are seeded and Hoffenheim/Nice would be the only slippery tie (on paper) for us, right?
