I mentioned last season they had two lynchpin's in their setup. Pretty much everything went through Pogba and everything finished with Zlatan. I did ask the question when Pogba got injured what that would mean for them as all their pass maps show him as the man knitting together their midfield and attack.

It seems their alternative was to wear teams down with aerial tranistions but then lost Fellaini at the same time.

They are a very average side, a few flattering wins over bum teams and the hype went to insane levels, even from a lot on here. Last season was exactly the same, who can forget the famous 1-0 win over Hull "that's what champions do", well not quite. It will be interesting to see how long the shit on a stick football is tolerated for, can't really use the "needs time" excuse if Pep wins the league this season after new guy Conte won it last season too. Theres no way the players dont get sick of it either, as if Man Utd players would think it's right to come to Anfield and like not even cross the half way line in a whole half of football. The tactics although cowardly were sound, defend well and hope to nick one on the break or through a mistake.

We defended well enough,you didn't have many decent efforts. De Gea was only truly troubled once. I thought your midfield and defence were fantastic though and that stopped the second part of our plan. They hemmed us in and cut the supply to Lukaku, and your defenders didn't put a foot wrong. Fair play to them as I think they are usually dogshit.

Good result, the league is a marathon and not a sprint after all.

Jose is what he is, and it's served him well in the past.

Sure i'd like a bit of Klopp's bravery in these sort of games but on the flipside, Klopp could do with a bit of Jose's pragmatism in some games too.

Overall i'm happy with Jose, we've played some really enjoyable football on the whole so far this season, we are solid at the back with that lad from Stoke being the only player to score against us in the league. We are scoring plenty of goals and are unbeaten. He's earned a bit of trust from the fans to do what he needs to.

A long way to go of course, but I hope those pundits who were jizzing themselves after they beat West Ham and Swansea are having a word with themselves. They are a fucking mile off challenging for the league.
A couple of injuries and their squad has been shown up for how average it is. Their style of play is so one-dimensional and turgid and it's been like that since Fergie left. I don't see any real improvements since last season. They've replaced Ibra with Lukaku who doesn't do it against top sides and disappears when the chips are down. He contributes fuck all else to their all round play. Matic is a solid addition in midfield, but they lack real creativity in key areas, and their defence isn't really all that.

Their next 7 league games look tasty... 6 teams from the current top 7.
