Need to win this and get the 3 points. It is all that matters. Always important to win when the teams above you are dropping points. Carrick is at the Wheel!

Still blowing a gale in Liverpool.

Was ridiculous last night, but I don't think it's blowy enough to call the game off - unless it gets worse again

40-50 mph at the moment, but down to about 20 mph at kick off. Should be fine

Got up to 80-90 last night.

It crossed my mind this morning, there are trees down all over the city. I've come in for a couple of hours in work by the waterfront and its still windy, but nowhere near as bad as last night. Reckon the game will be sound.

We had the worst of it last night (was horrendous). It'll affect the match as a spectacle but it won't be in doubt, although a lot of people will struggle to get there with trains up the wall and motorway issues. You'll get empty spaces.

Flying this afternoon, I’m not going to know the result until I land around 7.00 p.m.

The not knowing is going to be purgatory. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t know what was going on in a game as it was happening. Even right back to the pre-internet and pre-sky days I’d have my eyes glued to ceefax, or my ear to Radio 2.

Sounds like if you're planning to travel down the motorway it could be a nightmare depending where you come from. Can see there being a fair few empty seats sadly.

Marriner reffing again, 3 stonewall pens not given last time we played them and didn't even get a free kick when Walcott tried to finish Milner's career. Hopefully he's a bit better today.

I feel your pain,

my wife booked a fllght when we played Villa in 09 (shes now my ex wife)

maybe turn it into a positive, have you got access to Sky or LFCTV?  LFCTV show the full game on Saturday nights and it mightbe the game of the day on SKY, if you avoid the score a bit longer its like watching it live

Great OP jackh

I usually enjoy the game when we play against them.
Of course they have to be defence minded but they dont all sit behind the ball and try to have a go which usually means we get a few chances.

A game like this is really in our own hands, play professionally take a few of the chances and see it home.

Don't like making predictions as its nearly always a scud.
So any win will do and hopefully sets us up for a dangerous Wed night game.

Good line up. Would have preferred Matip started today than the other night but hopefully he's back in for the derby.

Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago finally starting together.

Thought he may play Konate in derby but makes sense to keep Matip in

That would be ridiculous but yeah it's probably possible sadly as he's starting all games lately.

Anyway, great team, 4-0

For all the talk in the media and among opposition fans (and even some of our own) about our supposed lack of squad depth, that’s a formidable starting XI, with some very strong options on the bench.

Southampton are there for the taking at the moment. I’m confident we’ll be able to get the result sealed by 60 minutes so we can make a few tactical subs ahead of Wednesday’s big one.

what does Tsmikas need to do to get a run of games?  Just find it curious that Robbo, when available, goes nearly straight back in to the 11, when they’ve both been good this season, both have strengths and weaknesses, at this stage Kostas having a nicer contribution in attacking third

Klopp is big on Rhythm so i’m assuming he wants him to play his way back into form. I’m sure when I saw quotes from Klopp he was aluding to the fact people forget how good Robbo is and Tsimikas’ ability simply means we have 2 really good LB’s. From memory, Klopp doesn’t really ‘drop’ his biggest players for us. Bobby, Trent, Mane, Hendo, Robbo have all had runs where some feel they need a break/rest but we often keep playing them through these periods even when there is an alternative option available who could play

Rotation, players coming back from injury, and a Fabinho/Henderson/Thiago midfield. Strong bench, and Bobby, Keita, Gomez and Elliott still to come back.

Gotta be happy with that.
