I once asked Rupert Murdoch why he was so opposed to the European Union. 'That’s easy,' he replied. 'When I go into Downing Street they do what I say; when I go to Brussels they take no notice.

It's not just him though is it, the whole industry is corrupt. Look at the way IPSO disgracefully let Mackenzie off for the way he tried to stir up hatred against the Channel 4 presenter for wearing a hijab . He's been let off, therefore did nothing wrong which to them means he was right, his views are facts, they can all go on saying such things and anyone who disagrees is just a moaning leftie.

Odd how all these people can do something like that and then moan about "establishment stitch ups" and "whitewashes" when something happens they don't agree with, isn't it?

IPSO did not say what he said was fact, they merely said he was free to say it. Something being permissible as "freedom of speech" doesn't make it right or wrong. You've totally misunderstood that ruling. A sign of corruption? Laughable.

There was a refreshingly good article in the Guardian on this: https://www.theguardian.com/media/greenslade/2016/oct/19/why-ipso-was-correct-freedom-of-expression-means-the-freedom-to-offend

I don't necessarily disagree with that, but what I'm saying is that Mackenzie and his ilk will see it as a justification of his views regardless of the reasons behind the decision.  It will be twisted as "IPSO said I was right. So you lot are naive/need to grow up/stop whining."

As for the corruption bit, well the deputy editor of The S*n was sat on the panel that made this decision. An employee of the rag that was under investigation had a hand in deciding whether or not it should be censured. It's exactly the same body as before just under a different name.

Hull and Sunderland are already looking nailed on to go down. The third relegation spot could be one of 7 or 8 teams though.
