There are some moaning old farts all the way through this thread! But I suppose what would RAWK be without the moaners? :P

Gradually became a fan simply from the re-runs on BBC3, leading up to the waters of mars episode. I've since gone back and seen some of the old ones.

Wasn't sure about the idea of the new guy at first but as soon as the title sequence started I was engrossed. I believed he was the doctor straight away. It was a great episode and although it's early I think the new doctor is perhaps even better than DT.

You must be the Doctor with a name like that!  ;D

To be fair, stockings/tights like hers last night make any woman's pins look amazing. I've got some and I love them with a pair of my highest heels. I admit I wouldn't say no to a body like hers, but only if I can keep my own boobs. I guess that's the price a woman pays for being skinny - you only get DD cups with implants.

Oh stop it you.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and didn't miss DT nearly as much as I thought I would. The story was very good, too. I think I'm going to enjoy this. Can't remember much about the assistant, though. Was it a man or a woman?

And here's a pic for you all. I'm looking forward to the return of these:

End of last series, he regenerated. Drawn out (making sure all his Earth friends were OK). We didn't see the regeneration this episode but the tardis was rebuilding (new concept?) and looking somewhere for a chaotic crash. I'm sure there will be a solution before the fatal regeneration-I think the Master tried to nick the Doctors' lives once so it can be done.

the 10th doctor had to absorb the radiation from some device that was about to go nuclear, he did that then went and said by to everyone, then he regenerated.

was under the impression a timelord had 13 regenerations so that would mean 14 doctors, no doubt they'll get around it somehow.

From memory,

1. Hartnell
2. Troughton
3. Pertwee
4. Baker
5. Davidson
6. Son of Baker (but we won't mention that one)
7. McCoy (loathe to mention this one)
8. McGann (does this count?)
9. Eccleston
10. Tennant
11. New one

If Hartnell was the first (ie. no-one regenerated into Hartnell as he was the first) then thats only 10 regenerations up to now. John_P well spotted, me be wrong!

apparently its 12 regenerations, so 13 doctors. So two more but I'd expect them to find a simple way around it.

McGann is classed as an official doctor and has been shown during 'The Next Doctor' and 'The 11th Hour.'

You must be new.. Don't you remember Jon Pertwee had fucked the tardis up so much at one point that he had the console on its own while he tried to fix it in a SHIPPING CRATE!!

I couldn't help but have a laugh earlier today when I happened to see the front page of the Daily Fail.  The headline read, "Dr Ooooh! How the Time Lord's saucy, short-skirted new companion sent viewers into orbit".

Reading the article, they've obviously been trawling around the messageboards.  They happened to find one person who called her "slutty".  I guess a lot of dad's will be tuning in to see what all the fuss is about  ;D

Thank god for that, all these years and me thinking That Colin Baker was his offspring. There is a god!!

Just this minute finished watching The first episode on the BBC ipod thingy. Got to say I was really impressed, love the new doctor, cheekily written "Fry it you're Scottish". Really glad she changed out of that police women costume, it was extremely difficult to concentrate at times. Joderell Bank getting a mention too, nothing realated to the previous sentence (as a fan you'll be aware).  :D

In all a cracking 9.5/10. Good start. More please.

I liked the old ones - most stories would go on over 5 or 6 weeks.

Yeah he is classed as an "official" doctor apparently. So that makes two scouse dr whos. Oh and i read somewhere that Paul McGann actually held the position as "the Doctor" for longer than any other actor! Which is true when you think about it, despite only appearing in one episode (and a few audio and cartoon episodes) he was the doctor from about 96 to 2005!

I thought a lot of the lines could easily have been delivered by Tennant. Maybe that was deliberate as the latest Doctor was shaking off the last bits of his old self.

His assistant will make sure that any poor episodes still hold their appeal....

The kids enjoyed it although the man and dog scared the youngest so he had to sit with me.  I thought it was pretty good.  There was a shot of Amy Pond's leg whilst they were showing the door that she hadn't noticed before - and to be honest i didn't notice the door for a few seconds.
