When did it change to "register your interest" for memeberships? Weird. I could just sign up whenever I wanted to before

If you have an existing membership you can renew for next season now.

I think register for interest is only for new memberships.

I know it's not the point but more cash grabs from fans, the new stand that's corporate heavy (after being sold to us as being more general admission), the membership thing. Are we still going to be the usual sell to buy in transfers, or will the new manager at least be given a competitive budget?

Ah. Mine expired in 2020 :(

I'll sign up when it becomes available, hoping to make another trip next season

I'm not bothering with membership anymore.  I got no tickets in the ballots and had to pay ridiculous amounts for Exec instead.  For me, living in Devon and wanting 5 or 6 visits to Anfield a season, it's pointless.  Particularly as if you do get tickets in the ballot it's always for Burnley or Sheff Utd or Luton.
Look up "Odious" in the dictionary and Martin Samuel is the given definition.  Call me Klopphooey please.

Don't be so naive mate. There are football clubs to be bought. You didn't think they were going to use their own money did you?

We are one of the cheapest in the league for a club our status ....................But hey seems like I may be in the minority.

You are mistaken, we are not one of the cheapest in the league - certainly when comparing the cost of season tickets....... You are correct when you say that you are in the minority though....

Our match revenue is 2-3 times that of Newcastle, for example, with about the same capacity (prior to the new stand opening this year).

Same with West Ham with less capacity.

He's not mistaken. There's probably only 2 clubs that can be compared to our status though.

So it's about £1 per match. Less than a pack of crisps. I know what i'd forgo.

And all the world is football shaped, It's just for me to kick in space. And I can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.

Ha, I remember hearing the same thing in the early/mid 90's when ticket prices started creeping up - all the way through to it soon pricing out sections of fans.

On the 1st page there is some content that explains why this isn't just 'a pound' or '2%' increase - as well as the club yet again sidelining the supporters board it put in place to erm... engage with about such issues - after multiple previous empty promises of 'we'll review and improve its engagement approach in collaboration with the Supporters Board'... yet again. Maybe worth a watch or read, mate.

Tickets on Expedia - Current situation:-

https://spiritofshankly.com/tickets-on-expedia

'On Tuesday evening, Spirit of Shankly were made aware by supporters that tickets for forthcoming LFC matches were available to buy on expedia.com. Expedia are an official LFC partner and their resale web page was advertising tickets for games at Anfield (in hospitality seats) as well as away fixtures at Atalanta and Fulham (in home sections) at vastly inflated sums. We contacted LFC immediately to understand why an official partner was advertising such tickets, and to enquire about the source of the tickets.

From our conversation with the club, they made it clear that Expedia do not receive tickets for resale. They also said tickets should not have been listed on Expedia and they were removed within two hours once they were made aware of the situation. Steps are being taken to ensure this incident, which the club have said was entirely outside of their control, is not repeated.

LFC are currently investigating the source of the tickets and, depending on the outcome, have said they will take any necessary and appropriate action that could include sanctions to any individuals or organisations who have tried to resell tickets. We have asked to be kept advised of progress.

This issue has also highlighted a number of other resellers, some officially partnered with the club, selling tickets for large sums of money for end-of-the-season matches. We will again ask the club about these relationships and incorporate the findings into our on-going work on ticket pricing and availability.'

I sometimes lurk on a Reddit board where people ask questions about travel, and it really illustrates how different getting tickets is to football compared with sporting events overseas - why would you not think you can just go onto Expedia or StubHub or Dodgy Dave's Soccerball Express and buy tickets at a mark-up to get you into a ground when that's how it works for MLB or NFL?

I'm surprised the club doesn't crack down on this more - it can't be difficult to match up a ticket number to a person - even if it's because they're not getting that mark-up themselves.

The club is full of shit.

You go on the official site for hospitality tickets and they are pushing you towards Expedia with the offer of a discount on a hotel room. The markup for a hospitality ticket and a room are extortionate and just another example of the profiteering that is going on. The club is making an extra £300 or £400 a seat by turning normal GA tickets into Hospitality.

Why would the club crack down on it when it opens up huge revenue streams. They are looking to turn each game into a mini break at which supporters spend hundreds if not thousands in the ground and in the club shop.

Yet still plead poverty every summer when it comes to strengthening the squad (short of big sales).
