'Arry Redknapp
« on: January 26, 2009, 12:25:52 pm »
I know there's a few Spurs threads knocking about but this is specifically about their current manager (although I wrote this at 12:21, they may have been through three more by the time I click 'post')

Is it just me or has he turned into a cock of the highest order? He shifts the blame off himself every time he appears in the press. "The players aren't good enough, they lack this and that". Now don't get me wrong, there is only so much you can do with a group of players you never bought, but nobody can tell me a side with Woodgate, Corluka, Bale, Modric, Huddlestone, Bentley and Pavlyuchenko should be lumbered in the mix with the likes of Stoke and West Brom as they are at the moment. And how are comments like "my Missus could have scored that" and "I'll play my weakest side" good examples of his supposedly spectacular "man-management".

They have a decent squad - just because his little miracle routine has gone egg-shaped doesn't change that. People said he should have been the next England manager after Sven. The same people said so after McLaren left. At this moment in time, he's proven he hasn't got the balls for a more high-profiled job and I don't think it'll be too long before he's shunted out the door for the next Tom, Dick or... well...

He undoubtedly has turned into one of the biggest wankers about. He has no class, announces every single transfer target he has, comes out with a plethora of moronic quotes, tells the media he supported what ever team he happens to be managing as a kid. His ability in the transfer market is massively overrated. Ever since he left West Ham, gradually over the years Ive become to respect him less and less. Dishonest, mercenary, saggy faced, fuckwit.

hate the c*nt and have done for some time cant understand why people rave about him.
would love it if he got relegated angain, then watch him jump ship back up to some no mark team in the prem then repeat several times until fuckwits who know nothing about football eventually notice he is a slimmy twat who is only loyal to money.
not only does he leave pompey again but then goes back and raids em for players
horrible c*nt

I think a lot of West Ham fans have a very different view of Redknapp to the media.  While the media portrays him as a great manager, the fans of those clubs he has managed see him as someone who did not lay the necessary foundations for their clubs.

He is overhyped by the media that is for sure.

I have had a dislike for him since he became Spurs manager and they beat us and we had to hear all this 'Harry Houdini' shit.

Spot on that Garstonite.

The Southampton carry on was what sealed it for me with Redknapp - the man has the integrity of a reptile at times, but he's portrayed as an 'honest as the day is long gor bloimey guvnor the queen mum's a diamond' cheeky east end wheeler dealer with a brilliant footballing brain. He's a good manager in the right context, but he's a strange one.

This book's well worth a read by the way - covers Redknapp and a few other characters...

Old 'arry is relying on a lot of people having short memories.  He has treated a lot of fans with disdain with the Southampton business in mind and as soon as things are looking a little short on the money front he jumps ship.

Bit of a mercenary really..... He had a great first five games at Spurs, mostly at our expense it seems but Spurs are still in no less danger of relegation than when he joined which doesn't reflect well on him.
He's a manipulative bastard. Another deliberate attempt to put pressure on people in the game, which he thinks he'll get away with because of his "standing" in the game and his fucking knighthood.

The personal abuse on the man is out of order.

The man is a decent manager and he has won the FA Cup last year.  Spurs are a joke of a team though, and I think Harry has lost it at the moment.  I cannot understand why and how they keep buying players. they must have a squad of 45 players now, and last I heard, Chimbonda is heading back!!!!

Obviously they have no clue what to do going forward, so the simplest solution is to try and turn the clock back to before they were in shit...cue Defoe, Chimbonda, and allegedly Keane!
I think we'd have won the league if we'd sold Keane to Man United.

It seems to me that his current tactic is to buy players who are ex - spurs and so probably haven't had their whole transfer fees paid.

For example I doubt we've actually paid more than 6-8mill for keane already. If twitcher came in offering say 9mill it would seem to the world he's got a massive bargain, we've not "lost" any money if you catch my drifter.

He's done that with Defoe and I'm fairly sure its something to do with the Chimbonda dealings.

Harry Redknapp, October 31: "You can't put him [Modric] in a 4-4-2 as it's difficult for him to play as one of two central midfielders, he's got to play further forward."

Harry Redknapp, January 27: "I've played him [Modric] in a 4-4-2 where most people said he couldn't play in England."

Wherever this guy goes he spends a shed load of dosh and as soon as the money runs out he moves on. Just done this at Pompey, moves to Spurs who have £50m from Robbie Keane and Dimitar Veron (that's what they call him ) and is like a pig in shit. Just why has nobody sussed him (besides us lot of course cos we're dead clever) ?

It's quite unreal that we had to pay Spurs £1.3m because we supposedly tapped up Robbie Keane, and yet here's Harry again, talking to the press about how much he'd love to have Robbie Keane in his side, he's a terrific fella, lots of time for him, etc.

It beggars belief how they get away with it.
