I will slag off Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy until my dying breath. Aaron Rodgers should have 5 rings.

I also think that whole cheesehead/WE OWN OUR TEAM thing is embarrassing. But otherwise I have no issue with them at all.

We do need more angry fans defending their team on here, unfortunately there's only three good teams in the league at the minute so everyone is kinda just miserable haha.

Going back to my original point about Green Bay's comeback not being impressive, I can think of an example of a very good comeback - week one, Green Bay vs Chicago. They were beaten down and then adjusted and retooled and out played Chicago in a win. That was a great fucking comeback.

Surely as such a big socialist you can get on board with this kind of thing?
So bloody what? If you watch football to be absolutely miserable then go watch cricket.

Regardless of whether it was him or not, wtf shouldn't he slag them off if he wants to, not like this is a packers board now is it?

How so?

The team is owned by the city, but that doesn't mean the fans have a say.

Most of the time people talk about the share issue, which was an almighty con:

I was neutral on some teams and players but fantasy has ruined that!

I would consider the fact fans 'pay' for stadium upkeep & regeneration as a good thing. It also means all profits are re-invested in to the team and surrounding areas. The team will also never relocate or ever be sold so that can only be a good thing.

Yes I understand no one is going to make any profit from it, but if you're buying stocks as a fan I don't think your intention is to make a profit. If you were buying stocks to make a profit that would ruin the socialist aspect of it. I also don't think it can be described as a scam when the intentions are clearly laid out. No one is being hoodwinked there.

Fine, does "taking advantage of gleeful idiots" work for you? They're a financially successful franchise and could pay for these expansions over time without gouging their fans.

It's not even about making a profit, it's about paying money for something worthless. Why not have Rodgers and the gang stand outside the stadium with a bucket? At least it would be honest!

I was only saying my first comment in jest really.

I also think the Cheesehead thing is cringeworthy, tho I think most nfl support is cringeworthy.

I haven’t got much time for McCarthy as he has obviously underachieved with Rodgers.

I’ll support them regardless of who’s in charge tho as I have lived in Wisconsin and family still there, the whole state is crazy for them.

Ps calm down skeeve  ::)

Wtf? I merely pointed out that there was nothing wrong with slagging off another team, unless it overtakes the love of your own team like it does with most bitters, it is a reasonable part of fandom to mock rivals.  ;D

Thankfully I manage to stay away from all that mostly but I can see where you're coming from now.

I think it's actually interesting to learn this kind of stuff when you follow a team from across the Atlantic. We obviously have a very different picture of things over here and I don't spend any time on Packers social media of forums so don't have a clue what their actual fan base is like.

Me too, and I barely interact with people about this kind of football. Brits especially often seem to get kind of preachy cos they try to relate the 'fan ownership' thing to socialism, which is just hilarious given the sport, the money involved, the lack of collectivism and the fact it's untrue.

In your opinion yes, I don't have any dependants at this stage in my life and I'd rather spend it on that than a night out that I probably won't remember. Each to their own, it's not as if I'm organising a whip around.

I'm not suggesting giving the club 250 euro for nothing, if there was a fund set up to redevelop the ARE I'd happily pay 250 euro towards. Maybe there'd be a complimentary ticket for a home game thrown in, all the better.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
