if I came home to allison in bed with my wife I'd ask him to phone Virgil to see if he wanted to pop round too.

Wouldn't mind seeing Milner and Ox come on for Wijnaldum and Firmino (Salah to striker) at about 60

We haven't played well but, we are controlling it in a way that we are giving them the opportunity to score. But we can't keep going like this.

Come on reds, just get that second!!!

Just brought it home to me how global our support is. It is 4am here and the pub is packed, 100% red. We just need to concentrate a bit more in second half and this is ours.

Not really enjoying this and scoring so early definitely affected the way we played, but on the other hand it's a bit more relaxing when we have the lead.

Really need to impose ourselves on the game in the 2nd half, can't be trying to hold onto this lead for another 45 mins.

Very tense and edgy so far but at least we are ahead. Conditions notwithstanding, couldn't have burnt a lot of energy in the first half...hope they have burnt the nervousness though. Expect Milner on sooner rather than later

Especially our corners.

TAA's in-swingers were going in exactly the right place (where the keeper has to come out, but slightly more than comfortable), but no one was challenging for the ball.

Looks like the occasion has gotten to some of our lads, but we're in the lead.

Bring Milner on early if things don't change but still.... don't care about the aesthetics now, just win boys.

People are being a bit harsh on the players, its hard to get straight into playing football with an unnatural break and then there is the challenging conditions. We are leading and I am confident we will play better second half.

don't know if the 3 weeks gap helps the football.

My concern is that whilst it is tight we don't want to give Tottenham any momentum at all as they are probably keeping the ball better though not created anything.

Our midfield are struggling to string any passes together. Ideally this ends now as this result.

Do not give them a sniff

Real lack of fluency, perhaps not surprising given the break. Finals aren’t always classics and it certainly hasn’t been so far. Sometimes a goal so early can do that as well.

Both teams well below their best. Still we’re ahead and haven’t looked in any real trouble either, just need to show a bit more composure when we get the ball.

both teams been nervous
was expecting we'd be better in terms of taking in the occasion since we've been in the final last year, but apparently everyone is nervous and we're not really playing our game...

luckily spurs isn't doing much better

whichever team woke up or settle down first in the 2nd half will take the game

Everyone who is having a pop at the lads need to calm their tits..

We have had more shots.. more shots on target.. more corners..
We have been in more threatening positions.. Lloris has been the busier keeper..

We seem to be letting them have more of the ball by design almost.. Maybe Klopp wants to play on the counter..

BTW.. Spurs have done fuck all with all the possession they have had.. and possession is pretty much the only metric they are leading on..

SO EVERYONE PLEASE CALM YOUR FUCKING TITS DOWN..
WE GOT THIS..

I think if we get the next goal, we will really begin to motor.

The penalty is the perfect example why handball is such a messy thing. On German TV Lothar Matthäus thinks it was the right decision, Michael Ballack thinks it shouldn't have been given but can see why the ref would give it and Erik Meijer thinks it was the wrong decision. And basically they ask have a point... Still glad that the ref have it. Let's do this...

Horrible game. Just horrible. I'm waiting for Spurs to bring it to us but it's just so, well, meh......

The worst thing is that this becomes an anticlimax, and then Spurs knock a late goal in, because up to now they've done nothing. We need a second goal and quickly to open the game up. For me, next goal wins. Up the fucking Reds.

Don't forget it's 34℃ out there in Madrid, it's okay to conserve energy rather than keep pressing.

Terrible game to watch but I'll take 1-0 all day every day - long may it continue.

OR one of our quick multi-goal blasts near the start of the second half.

Not sure whats going on can only assume the heat. Both teams and sets of fans seem a little flat  :odd
