Is this a 'thing' on here? I can't seem to see it anywhere. Seems a standard thing on most forums nowadays. Would be useful.

Not sure if it does exactly what you're after, haven't tested, but if you hit 'Attachments and other options' under the box you type in when writing a reply, you can tick the 'Notify me of replies' box.

Notifications for being quoted?
« Reply #3 on: February 20, 2015, 03:28:11 am »
Hi,

This may be a bit far fetched but I think some sort of platform that notifies you that you have been quoted in some thread would be a great addition to this forum. As I know nothing about coding/sites I'd like to know would this require you guys to like move onto a new server or something? Or could it be easily added to the already existing platform?

Thanks.

You can always search for your name or look under "new replies"

That's what I do. Search for my username in the search box and tick on most recent. That way if I've been quoted, it comes up with my name in the post. Easy.

In the main board you can use a Google search with date parameters "quote from: SP"

If you want proper notifications of replies to your posts, I believe the tapatalk app for mobiles has this facility.

Hi, I'm new to the forum. Just wondered if theres an easy way to see when somebody has quoted you and directly replied? Its sometimes hard if a post increasing by 10 pages an hour, to see whether somebody has actually replied to you without searching though every single page! am i missing a simple trick?

cheers

Is there a way to be alerted (via Tapatalk for instance) when someone quotes you in a thread?

Tapatalk definitely notifies me when someone quotes my post.

Makes using the site a better experience than the desktop version, imo.
