Killing Eve - BBC
« on: September 9, 2018, 06:18:10 pm »
Starting next week a new drama called ‘Killing Eve’, starring the brilliant Jodie Comer, who plays a sociopathic assassin.

Link for the trailer. It looks mad.

Sandra Oh is amazing in it. Is good stuff.

I remember that trailer last week after The Bodyguard.

Looks bonkers.

I'll be watching it.

Downloaded it when it was on in the States and going to watch it again on BBC. It's my favourite TV show of the year. Jodie Comer is absolutely astonishing.

She was excellent in this one. By far the best attraction of the show.

I was very surprised with this. A lot better than I thought it would be but that's all down to Jodie Comer! What a performance that was, The way she moved and especially her facial expressions at times were brilliant. She was incredibly scary but also incredibly sexy at the same time which was weird  ;D

I found the first 4 episodes to be perfect. The last 4 episodes were less compelling for me mainly because Eve's characterization was all over the place.

Think I read that after the first episode is aired on BBC One, the entire season will be available to download on iPlayer. So if you want to binge watch it, you can - or you can choose to watch it every Saturday...

Watched the final episode tonight.

Superb stuff, and Comer is an absolute star in the making.

While wifey and I thought The Bodyguard was pretty good we liked this far more.

Some wonderful quirkyness, a fascinating story beautifully constructed, and some great acting on show.

I'd recommend it highly.

Loved it, although a bit disappointed with the ending. I loved that it was so funny as well as a thriller and Jodie Comer was great. Some of her facial expressions just cracked me up.

Agree with all of this. Given all the hype Bodyguard received(and it was brilliant), I think I preferred this more!

Don't miss this. One episode and you will be hooked.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge responsible for some great lines and Jodie Comer more than does them justice with a superb performance. It's stylish, funny and full of great actors and a brilliant sound track.

Good news is that Series 2 filming is underway and we won't have to wait too long as it may be on screen in Spring 2019. Series 1 was shown on BBC America earlier this year but there won't be as long a gap this time.

Most of the cast from series one are involved again.

Huh, wasn't this a BBC production? It's shocking to me that it's come out over there so long after it did here. Absolutely fantastic show, and it's a crime Comer didn't get nominated for anything.

It was a BBC America production, which is a separate commercial entity to our BBC.

Well, I guess you learn something new every day. I always saw BBC America as simply an outlet for distributing BBC content here.

Completely agree with this - first few episodes were gold, towards the end it all got a bit slapstick, especially the last episode which lacked any real tension because of it.  Great fun all round though.

I'm 4 episodes in. I love it.

It really does play out like the blackest of black comedies at times.  Its a really clever show and the soundtrack is fantastic.

The two lead actresses are both brilliant in their own unique ways.  Jodie is REALLY good but Sandra Oh is just class.

Great to see Kim Bodnia on a BBC show as Villanelle's handler.  He was absolutely great as Martin Rohde in Broen (The Bridge)
