Barcelona Hope To Sign 20-Year, $350M Naming Rights Deal For Camp Nou

Barcelona are in the final stages of a naming rights deal for Camp Nou as they're targeting a €300 million deal over 20 years.

The sponsor's name will appear after "Camp Nou," effectively becoming the stadium's surname.

The money will go towards the renovation of Camp Nou, Barca's base since 1957.

I subscribe via Virgin Media, who offer two Sky Sports add-ons - SS1&2, or all SS channels.

Being a big F1 fan, I opt for the latter so it's particularly frustrating that a not insignificant amount of the race weekends are 'similcast' on Sky One...significantly de-values the subscription to the second package for me.

Very disappointed to learn about La Liga now shifting too - always quite nice to have those matches as background options in the evening, but not with the additional cost.

It seems like - monopoly or competition - the consumer's getting stuffed either way.

Phoning up Friday morning to ask for reduced price or I cancel

I’m sure they’ll think I’m haggling but I’m straight forward gone if it’s not dropped. I watch La Liga every sat and sun.

Sevilla has threatened to withdraw from the fixture because the Spanish federation has allowed for an unlimited non-EU players to be named for the match.

I have a question for some of you knowledgeable guys on here. Can you please explain this quote for me: “Brazilian Philippe Coutinho is thought to have gained a Portuguese passport in the last few days through his wife, with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi already having EU citizenship.”. Does this mean that they can play for their home nations in the World Cup but still be registered as an EU-player? What’s the point in these rules if the big clubs are going to shit on them on a regular basis?

Gives them dual citizenship I believe.  If they hadn’t already played for their country then they would have the option.  In Spain you are only allowed to have 3 non EU players in your squad.  Right now, I think they have Coutinho, Malcom, Arthur, and Marlon.  So, if Coutinho doesn’t get a Portuguese passport then only 3 of those players can be registered for the league season.

3 nil at halftime. Rayo look pretty bright going forward, impressed by Kakuta the few times they've been able to get him in. But what a shambles at the back! Thankfully for them, the transfer window is still open...

Rayo being shit at the back is nothing new, they were dreadful defensively when Jemez performed miracles.

Real moving the ball around smartly, looking pretty good. Goal was a composed header from Carvajal after a poor punch by Soria.

We are yet again dependent on Messi. Worried that a top CL team may shut us down by simply shutting Messi down.

The amount of chances Suarez and Dembele miss is worrying.

What about Phil ?

Phil came on and scored but Barca really should be benching Suarez and playing Dembele and Coutinho on the flanks, it would give them much more dynamism and pace up front.

Suarez had a good season number wise last year, but it's clear he's far from the Suarez he was from a couple of years ago.

Well he scored, whereas Suarez and Dembele keep missing chances. Unfortunately, Suarez has given only one top season at Barca so far. He hasn't been shit in others, but like everyone else, utterly reliant on Messi.

Coutinho is doing well. He could carry Barca together with Messi.
