Holy fuck, that was incredible.

Spoiler
Just beautiful, beautiful stuff. Ken, Shiv and Roman finally uniting - that scene with Ken confessing about the waiter was all kinds of amazing. And Logan still winning, all because of Tom.

Sets Season 4 up beautifully, with the three kids on the outside and Logan/Tom/Greg on the inside with GoJo. Although I think this would arguably have been a perfect ending for the show overall.

Can't begin to tell you how pleased I am that nobody died though. I thought they'd go there with Logan - him downing health drinks felt like a sign of impending doom, and there was so many shots of him climbing steps that a heart attack felt inevitable. But the show is so much better with him in it.

Spoiler
Like watching modern Shakespeare.

The mother putting her new husbands interests over her kids.

The unification of the kids over Ken's confession.

The whole fact that it appears as though is Logan returning the favour to Tom.

Tom: Do you want a deal with the devil?
Gregg: What am I going to do with a soul anyway

And all the world is football shaped, It's just for me to kick in space. And I can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.

Get in Tom Wambsgans. Although he is clearly now Logan's Greg.

Love that the final image of the season is Shiv with a face like a bulldog licking piss off a thistle.

That's a brilliant description - "Modern day Shakespeare...

The twists and turns, i've loathed each one of the kids in equal measure at some stage, but found myself rooting for them as they were driving to meet Logan...

The BOOM BOOM two massive fucking right hooks in their mother shafting them and Tom grifting his way up the ladder... I've not seen something that unexpected since i watched GOT - The red wedding episode.

Absolutely scintillating stuff, brilliantly written and superbly delivered by all actors.

I haven't liked all of this season as much as the first two - it's still mostly been quality, but it felt to me as though some of the things they were doing with the characters (Kendall, Roman and Shiv especially) were slightly forced.

However, these last two episodes - especially the finale - have been absolutely superb and actually somehow retrospectively improved and lifted the whole season for me. Utterly brilliant writing and outstanding acting all round.

Annual new season Succession binge week, starting the new season tonight, then we'll watch the final episode Monday night.

I've been avoiding this thread and everything online about this season like the Plague.

Well done Tom. He's in such a better position with the Roy kids no longer having Daddy in charge. From a nepotistic aristocracy to hopefully more of a meritocracy.

I think Shiv really fucked herself with that sex talk "you're not good enough for me", "even though I don't love you".

Everything Kieran Culkin did in this episode was amazing. 'The real tragedy of that wedding is I had to wait 45 minutes for a gin & tonic'.  How I laughed.

Best acted show I've ever seen. Everyone is giving 10 out of 10 performances - even Alan Ruck, with almost no material, is nailing every single line reading.

Spoiler
He's been untouchable in this series. Although Sarah Snook has been brilliant in the last 3 episodes.

His little roll of the eyes during Shiv's speech when she started talking about Tom at the wedding banquet

Also the 'Are you having a baby with my Dad - it'll be born old you know'

The intervention too - "You're top of the intervention pile today, we'll do me tomorrow"

Alan Ruck's mini meltdown in the restaurant was nearly the highlight though.

Tom though! Nailed them - absolutely no less than they all deserved.

Roman and Tom have always been my favourites in the show. *Roman actually ditched the bravado at the end and was much more relatable.

Kendall and Shiv were phenomenal in that last episode (Kendall in particular). Gregg is turning into someone that will be unlikeable.

Maybe, I'm not sure she's that twisted though? Tom is the obvious way to get back close to her Dad again though. And he loves her - he just took his chance when it was presented, cutthroat.

Her only real problem is she thinks she's the smartest person in the room and never listens - they are alway banging on about how inexperienced she is. Be interesting to see if she learns her lesson and how she reacts. I always thought she's the toughest out of the siblings, just not mad street smart yet.

That finale was just amazing.

Spoiler
No idea how the show manages to get me so emotionally invested in characters who ten minutes previous were making jokes about a situation where one of them had killed a guy.

The kids did absolutely everything right in the build up to those final moments except making one mistake, thinking their parents actually love them. The fact they never even considered that their mum would fuck them over showed their naivety. Then the final dagger was Logan essentially rubbing it in their faces "Love? You come to me with love?" Maybe this is a turning point for the kids in that they now realise that they're up against a complete monster who hates them.

Also, Tom!!!! Feel like that was three series worth of build up paying off with that move. Episode after episode of him being put down by Shiv until finally he had enough. I think last week's episode was the final straw for him, I think he knew Shiv didn't love him but could never really admit it to himself up until that point.

Loved the chat Shiv had with her mother in the last episode about Logan, about him kicking things just to see if it will come back.

Shiv has totally got that streak in her about her marriage. She kicked the piss out of Tom in the last episode under the assumption he'd keep coming back.  Was delighted when he screwed them all over.

You won't regret it. It's great from the start, but gets so much better as it goes on as more and more emotional depth is layered in. Initially you might find it a little cold, albeit incredibly funny.

Some of the lines in that episode were amazing just from the start,
Spoiler
Hans Christian Anderfuck and see if hes been telling us fairytales

The story of the slaves surely referred to Logan's kids

I agree that Roman would invade France

Gregweiler hahahahah

Roman trying to cheer up Ken with "who's the real victim here, some dead waiter or me having to wait 45 minutes for my G+T"

Connor acting like Fredo :D 'I'm the eldest child'

Roman was amazing this episode, his response to Tom when he mentions trying for a baby with Shiv, the old baby stuff, finally getting over his daddy complex near the end only to miserably fail, cheering up Ken, the little convo with Greg, there was so much

Agree 100%. I'm curious why you think this one was weaker than the previous ones though? Personally, I feel like the characters started doing things that didn't always feel 100% natural to me in order to fit where they wanted the story to go.

Spoiler
Ken has obviously always been fragile and has a tendency to say stupid things, but he became a ridiculous parody at times this season; Roman's mutation into full bad apple heel who didn't give a shit about his brother felt a little hollow; Shiv was also a bit idiotic in how she played the game at times, despite being a much more savvy operator in season 1 especially
[close]

But yeah, the last couple of episodes, and especially the finale, really pulled the season up to a very high level again.

So I managed to wait until all of them were released (helped by re-watching the first two series) before binge watching this last season.

Like others have said, probably not as strong as the other two series, but that was an incredibly high benchmark and this still remains one of the best things on telly. The finale was also spectacular in every way, and sets things up very nicely for another season.

Spoiler
After having a slight soft-spot for Roman in the last two series, he has become incredibly unlikable in this series. Still some fantastic lines though, and the dick-pic scene had me in proper stitches.

Great to see some Tom finally step up and fuck over Shiv too

You can see Logan´s character has visibly weakened this series. Brian Cox even did a great job of making him look physically diminished on the scene when he misses out on his meds - there is one bit where he is being held up and for the first time in the series he looks physically small. It is a shame in some ways, even if plot driven, because he provided some of the most memorable scenes and one-liners in the first two series.
