Was driving home from EuroDisney yesterday night and after the family had fallen asleep I popped Echoes on shuffle and just enjoyed being "alone" with the music and the road. I can never get tired of Pink Floyd.

The colleague I share an office with is out today.

I am powering through my work with the help of Pink Floyd.

Already listened to Meddle, currently half way through The Wall, with Wish You Were Here to follow and finally The Dark Side of the Moon.

There are worse ways to spend a Thursday.

Manchester United could win fifty titles, but they will always be the Rolling Stones of football. Good, just not quite that band from Liverpool.

This is a tough one I've always been more of a fan of the Waters led era 73-83 so here's just a selection;

Comfortably Numb,
The Gunner's Dream
Dogs
Us and Them
Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Hey You
In the Flesh

Damn it there are too many, quality band I'm gutted I never got to see them live. I've seen Water's and Gilmour separately but it's not the same :(

Dogs
Shine On
Great Gig in the Sky
Goodbye Blue Sky - though really the whole of the first part of The Wall album. Thing about Floyd is, you can't split the songs up you need the whole thing.

Far too many to mention. Personally I like songs from all of their phases.
Off the top of my head:

Julia Dream
See Emily Play
Gunner's Dream
Fletcher Memorial
Time
Money
Have a Cigar
High Hopes

and walks outdoors, and keeps on walking,

Dark Side of the Moon is still one of the best, most complete albums ever. Sometimes things are universally popular because they are lowest common denominator and sometimes because they are just fucking brilliant. Listening to it now on the way home because of this thread.

It really is special. It normally takes me a long time to get into albums, even ones I end up liking, but that one made a massive impression on me right from the first listen.

Must dig out The Wall DVD, not watched it in ages. Remember the first time I watched it, I was on the verge of turning it off after 5 minutes as I thought Geldof was foing to be singing the whole album/movie.

Mother is my favourite Pink Floyd track. Try and find Pearl Jam's version as well, absolutely brilliant.

Saw The Australian Pink Floyd and Mac Floyd earlier in the year and going back to see the Aussies at The Hydro in Glasgow in January, thought they were brilliant last time.

I work a lot in the summertime and often long hours. Dark side of the Moon is the one album I can never get tired of listening to. Driving in the summer night as the daylight dims and this album is so close to perfection for me. I love it, I truly do.

Just dug this up

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/qvTfN2gjDvU?fs=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/qvTfN2gjDvU?fs=1</a>

And the same song back in the Syd era. With a brilliant introduction and subsequent interview by Hans Keller, a high brow classical music theorist who seems to be in equal amounts appalled and intrigued by what they are doing. Poignant to see Syd so together at that point. And a weird reminder of how times have changed, with a fairly straight-laced establishment figure unabashedly smoking on screen and the kind of sensible discussion after the performance that is worlds away from the music media nowadays
