Oh, I remember the amount of shite he got on here from a number of posters....which was a pity because it's only now people have realized what a big loss he was for the club....well, some. Not all of course.

This is what we do. And we do it very well. Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bM8gOyjeuc

There are some players who can cement legendary status in just 2-3 seasons, like Gary Mac, Luis is one - loved the guy. He's still got it, remember his goal in Carra's testimonial? I still have the celebratory Champs League shirt (with gold trim) with his name on the back. Legend.

The majority who thought we were shite were introduced to a fella called Pennant. And quickly realized what a mistake they made slaughtering Garcia in the first place.

Can't think of a player that I miss so much, and I include Xabi in that. He wasn't the best player that we let go but there was something about the guy that made him special. Wish I was at Carras testimonial just to see him in the red shirt again

lfc fan all life pal, so why sell and get torres?

why not add quality with quality?

so do we sell torres now to buy a stiker that will score us goals?

would i sell torres to buy bellamy, crouch and walcott?
yes i probably would but then i am looking to improve our squad!

united will sell rooney in a year if the glazers do not back fergie/jose, so do you sell a player to make money and improve our squad?

Although I'd have Yossi ahead of him (and Cole) every day of the week, he defined Rafa's success at Liverpool every bit as much as any player. And he was only here a little while.

Rafa's first 2 major signings were Alonso and Garcia- what a pair of signings they were eh? Both legends in my eyes.

Exactly. You could straight away see the quality Rafa was bringing in. The year before we had Salif Diao in the center and Diouf in Garcia's position.

As for Roy, his first 2 signings were Cole and Poulsen. Both worse than the players they were replacing.

Garcia is 32 - Not sure about bringing him back.

I guess if we were limited on funds, he could be a decent bit part player (that's probably just me being bias and relying on emotional decision) lol. Really wished he didn't leave but wanted to go back home. Which is fair enough.

Whenever I think of our run to the final in Istanbul in 2005, most of the memories are of Luis

His goals against leverkusen, Juventus, and Chelsea gave us the shot at realizing the dream

People can say what they like about him, call him over rated or frustrating or whatever, but I don't think we would have won our 5th European Cup in 2005 without Luis Garcia. He fucking owned that competition that year. Sorry Kaka, but he did. Fact !!!

The saddest thing for me is that he went in the opposite direction when Nando arrived having arguably, to this date, made more of a contribution to our success than his compatriot. Could have been joyous to see them together. Also a far superior footballer than Yossi IMO and the best attacking header of the ball at 5 foot something we've had for years.

His heading was seriously underrated. Managed to win a lot of headers and scored some nice goals.

The thing about Luis was his positioning... he was almost always at the right place at the right time.... and also always making that run to goal in case of rebound or something.

Yeah he could be frustrating at times with his passing but he more than made up for it in every other way. He was the key to our champions league run.
