What's the red, white and black one? Looks like a United flag.
Does anyone have a high resolution of this Hillsborough Flame please (a black and white version would be better still):
I watched a YouTube video and decided that Paul Konchesky looked like a player.
A dead animal is a dead animal. And a piece of meat is a piece of meat.
....two European Cups with the numbers 77 and 84 on them
Me and a few of my mates are thinking of doing a new one for next season. For my last banner we hand-stitched the letters on but it took ages to do so I'm thinking of painting them onto some fabric this time round. Looking at getting a big piece of red fabric, 10 metres long by a metre high. Any recommendations as to where I should be looking for the material? Dunelm?Has anybody got any experience of painting letters onto a banner before an all? Am I best cutting out some stencils beforehand?
A good way of doing banners is to Paint them on Polycotton fabric which I have done with a couple of banners such as the one below. It is relativley cheap to make and comes out looking pretty good. Firstly buying the materials; The best place too get the fabric cheaply is here...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/POLYCOTTON-FABRIC-over-30-different-colours-available-/400273557910?pt=UK_Crafts_Fabric_Textiles_SM&hash=item5d3229c996 Great prices and quick delivery. Put in the quantity bit how many metres you require for your flag. The best paint to use is Crawford & Black Acrylic paint. it is exclusive to "The Works" which every town centre has they have online aswell but out of stock at the moment as it is popular but mosts stores have them in. It's the best becuase it goes onto the fabric perfectly and doesn't crack when folded and the paint doesn't run off in the rain. It's is cheap for how much you get out of this type specificly, it's the brand I always use. i would buy a couple of bottles just incase which is Ł5 or Ł2.99 for one. If you require a special colour e.g.Gold or Silver for 5 stars then I reccomend http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALL-60-COLOURS-DALER-ROWNEY-SYSTEM-3-ACRYLIC-PAINT-/390332771862?pt=UK_Crafts_DrawingSupplies_EH&var=&hash=item99acfe537b You get more than enough inside at a cracking price as Discount art will charge Ł3.50 for P&P.Again The Works is great for brushes. I have these ones http://www.theworks.co.uk/Crawford--Black-15-Piece-Value-Brush-Assortment/5052089006218.html They are only Ł1.99 and clean the acrylic paint of easilly and will last for a long time. ___________________________________________________________________________________After you have all the materials you need your idea and to have the graphic on your computer at a pretty high res so you can get the best quality traced on too your flag. A digital projector is ideal and will project the image on too the wall and then you just have to tape the material on and trace. An overhead projector works the same but you will have to print the image off onto acetate paper. If you don't have a projector ask whoever is in charge at Work, School, College, or Uni if you can stay behind and use it for an hour, can't imagine it being a problem. Projectors can be bought from ebay second hand in working order from Ł30-Ł50 e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sanyo-PLC-XW20A-Digital-Projector-GRADE-B-698-Hrs-/170743857283?pt=UK_AudiVideoElectronics_Video_Electronics&hash=item27c1208083 or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OVERHEAD-PROJECTOR-3M-9080-TWIN-LAMP-OHP-/150748818520?pt=UK_AudiVideoElectronics_Video_Electronics&hash=item2319546c58If you are unable too access a projector then if the banner is not too big you can just trace each letter at a time from your computer screen as long as you don't lean too hard. Also if you go to picslice.com you can print of your image in segments to the correct size and place your fabric onto the paper which you should cellotape together to keep it all attched so it don't fall to peices then shine a light on top so you can see clear enough and trace onto the fabric. Once you have traced your image on the hard part is done and you just need to paint which is pretty self explanatory. If you want to have seems going up the side for poles and round the sides to stop fraying of the fabric then sewing it is not something I know how to do and I give that job to my Grandma But is the best way to do it. You can also go to your local dress maker/tailor and most will do it for you for around Ł5. However, if you are not able to get it sewn for poles and round the sides then this stuff is like superglue for fabrics and so easy to apply to the fabric **Worth the money, trust me** http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRITT-COPYDEX-STRONG-ADHESIVE-125ML-FABRIC-GLUE-/130642669482?pt=UK_Crafts_Cardmaking_Scrapbooking_Glue_Tape_EH&hash=item1e6ae8efaa This stuff will last you a long time also and then you have it incase it gets ripped somehow. Lastly, If you want to be able to tie the banner up aswell you can buy brass eyelets... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120723763712?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 and glue them on with superglue and make an incison to put a bit of rope/string through. Or sew a thinish peice of rope on but will have to be done with a sewing machine so it lasts. If none of them you can do what I do sometimes and just use Industrial Duct Tape to put them up at games which is ideal as other tapes don't keep banners up for 10mins let alone 90. If you have to buy things like projectors as having a shot of someone elses e.g. Work, School, College, Uni will make it expensive but you will have it for further banners you might make etc And you could sell it on again. Also other options are there that work just as good on the flag. *****If done without the projector and fabric glue and using the other methods which are just as good it can be acheived for around the Ł10 mark*****
I used this back in 2012. Still useful today. Defo use a stencil before painting. https://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=45376.msg9851348#msg9851348
Normally a player can look great on tubes, but one of the things that's encouraging for me is just the amount of youtube videos on him
How about this?
Don't do this. You want to make a banner with three 'K's on it?Oh no no no I very firmly recommend you do not do this!
PLEASE LFConor do not put 6 on the banner. It is the worst bad luck going.
I second that
It's alliteration. It's hardly a banner with KKK on it.
It's really possible I'm over-sensitive about this sort of thing but I'm really not 100% persuaded that that particular alliteration, three Ks on a banner, is a good look!
You are over-sensitive about that. We're playing in Kiev, our manager in Jurgen Klopp and the Kop is world famous. There is literally nothing else to that banner.
