With that squad travelling, we have the means to win this game by 2 clear goals and confirm our qualification for the ko rounds. Eventually its possible to guarantee top finish on goal difference even if we fail to beat Spartak in the last game.

The first team are in good flow (or as Klopp would say 'In a Good Way') and I expect the front six to be the same - Salah, Firmino, Mane, Coutinho, Henderson and Wijnaldum. Great sub options for this group with Sturridge, Solanke, Oxlade, Lallana, Can ready to come off the bench.

One thing that stands out is how thin we are in Central defence. The fixture list shows how intense and demanding the coming games are, one every 3 days.

The Spanish sports press is about as parochial as it gets. If it didn't happen here or have some direct relevance to here, it didn't happen. They used to cover Liverpool a lot when Rafa and the big Spanish contingent was with us but now they're only interested in Mourinho and Guardiola.

I can't see Mane not starting. It's the biggest game of the season so far. Win here and we're through. Then we can leave Mane/Salah out against Spartak and possibly rest a few others too.
