My uncles had those. I used to play with Sargent Slaughter because I thought he looked like Action Man.  :D

As i'm a lapsed fan mostly and haven't properly followed it in years, I had no idea Warrior returned to Raw in face paint the day before he died. That's really sad. Only just saw that when looking for a warrior pic to put up on here.

Stay young and invincible. Come what may we're unstoppable.

monday - he came out on raw to talk to the crowd, first time in nearly 20 years on raw. he didnt have face paint as such, it was a mask. you can see the string over his ear in that photo. he was dead the next day

it was really sad, i loved the warrior

Yeah I see now that it was a mask now you point it out. Maybe he had been hanging on to get closure and once he got it his body gave way. It can happen like that sometimes I believe. I wonder if you gave all those wrestlers their time again if they would do the same thing again. For some of them, I imagine the early death was an acceptable price to pay for achieving the fame and adulation that they had that they might not have had without all the steroids and the lifestyle.

Yeah heard he'd not been well all weekend, coughing up blood backstage.

Makes you think what these guys do to their bodies to get them into the shape they're in.

dynamite kid is an absolute physical mess now and has said he would do it all again.

there is a big belief that he was hanging on for that, i can see why, his final promo is very poignant "every mans hearts one day beats its final beat, his lungs breathe their final breath"  "the spirit of ultimate warrior will live forever"

he seemed to make peace with loads in the run up including hogan, jake roberts and vince.

Yeah heard he'd not been well all weekend, coughing up blood backstage.

widely reported he was always short of breath that weekend, and was clutching his chest a lot.

was also said to be sweating profusely though in the pic above he is wearing a shirt, waistcoat, blazer and a HUGE coat. no wonder he was sweating.

he obviously wasnt well though, his death didnt seem to be that unexpected given the reports of him struggling to breathe and him holding his chest etc

Mixed feelings on the Warrior, he was great fun when I was growing up, so that nostalgia is always there, but his right wing views and really long, self-indulgent speeches when he came back soured it all for me.

Great promo for his time, just a relentless stream of utter coked-fueled garbage.

I never saw him return.

Let's be honest they're all self-indulgent.  ;D

Probably not judging any of them when they were past their best.  They all come back shadows of their prime, when they should be remembered.

This is how I'll remember him as a wrestler.

how come there are more votes than participants

There's politics at work here, look at how weak the winning teams have been so far. I suspect either duplicate accounts or people begging for votes via PM to people who don't follow wrestling. The irony of course being that my Hulk/Nash team would be perfect for this!

Justifiably as well  8)

Gangrel is the DC Comics of that team, you should love him

He's actually a comic book character IIRC, which always confused me

That was your problem mate, you should have PM’d more than two people  :)
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
