Lots of odd ones popped up but I needed 2 so I just left it. It's a mixture of luck and being quick!

Do we think these £9 tickets will carry on next season or is there more chance of hell freezing over?

I'm guessing they will, it's not a lot of tickets! I finished on 16 this season, will pay full price for the Everton, United and a few others next season

Anyone heard anything on this for the coming season?  Could do with knowing before the bulk sales so I can make a choice on whether to chance my arm on the local sale for some of the less popular games rather than buying in the bulk.

Seeing as all of the £9 seats was unavailable for the ACS I'd imagine they'll keep it?

Still no CH postcodes which seems harsh imo :-\
And reckon touts will still get round it as there is no photo on the ticket so anyone could use it once they have picked it up...

Not really, it's not Liverpool. I would argue on locking it down further to specific L postcodes but it's a minefield. CH is a massive area, where do you stop?! Also, there's a little side over there called Tranmere who aren't doing so well, I think it'd be wrong of a massive club like ours to give people from Tranmere's local area cheap tickets.

That's a fair point. Hadn't thought about that. I just meant the ones that used to be L - not their fault Royal Mail changed it a few years ago. But I agree, some of them are not local so I would support locking it down to say, 10 miles or whatever...or tighter even?

Only real change is the "uncollected tickets will see members have their accounts suspended" - the only time I used local sales was for the Saints semi and 100+ never turned up so good on the club for enforcing this.

Can imagine them still checking tickets during the games. Won't stop the issue - only photo id would do that - but will help.

Also being a bit thick here but do you need id and a utility bill? or would a photo drivers licence (with your address on) be enough?

Could open a can of worms that. I mean who takes stuff like that to the match? Sometimes I'm lucky if I've got a debit card with me. I never carry my driving licence.

I'm in L4, so something would be very fucked if it wasn't included. The L postcodes cover a wide area, like Ormskirk, it's not local!

This is the point I've made repeatedly on here and to the club. People like myself (living in Birkenhead) wouldn't be complaining about he local sale at all were it not for the fact that there are people included in it that live in the middle of rural Lancashire, up to six times further from Anfield than us.

Tough one this, I live in Ormskirk and whilst it certainly isn't L4 it is as close to Anfield as Speke and I am sure the Speke residents would kick off big style if they were excluded. The Wirral conundrum is awkward,  some don't want any affiliation to Liverpool but I would be seriously pissed off if I lived 4 miles from Anfield but didn't qualify.

Is it not the case that the club represents "Liverpool" the city. The ground just happens to be in L4.

If we had a new ground in say, Speke, would that mean that people in for example Aintree wouldn't be considered local, and would therefore be expected to support Everton?  ;)

Speke's part of Liverpool and Aintree is part of Sefton.  Although I'm from Sefton myself I think it should only be the City region and Bootle, or Netherton to be specific.

They can get a bit funny if we refer to ourselves as Scousers as there was once a visible division between Bootle and Liverpool, before they merged into one.  Somebody will now take offence at that, 'merging into one'.

Anyway, we were here first and it was a holiday resort for the rich people of Liverpool.  But I'm not arsed about that bit really, I mean L30 was never for rich people, fuck me.

It should just be the City Council region, plus Netherton.  Fuck the rest of Bootle.  We could probably drop Speke to be honest, there's too many tree lined avenues to be Scouse.  Get rid of Aigbouth as well, they've got cricket to watch.

So yes, City region, plus Netherton minus Speke and Aigbouth (and the rest of the South End for that matter).

Where was a holiday resort for Liverpool? Bootle/Netherton? :D I work in Bootle (live in Liverpool) but never knew that! I know it has rich merchants' houses but never a holiday resort surely? Now Crosby maybe I could understand or Southport! ;D

I don't know exactly when. I'd guess mid 1800's. There was a beach from sandhills down to Bootle. Netherton is kind of a bootle overspill. It was mainly farm land until the 1950s.

Liverpool tried to absorb bootle in around 1900. Bootle resisted, hindsight eh.

Used to know the Williams family who owned the Merton, one of the lads was at Hugh Baird college, along with Marcus McGhee, the lad Gerrards mates twatted. My mum and dad used to have a shop on stanley road, opposite the Triad.  Carra's family used to come in when he was about 9 or 10.

This is the area 'Liverpool' covers - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Liverpool/@53.4142994,-2.8923132,12z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x487adf8a647060b7:0x42dc046f3f176e01!8m2!3d53.4083714!4d-2.9915726

That's the L postcodes. Without doing a proper comparison you can see the bits that should be binned off straightaway.

So I've moved south end to north end. Probably a little closer to the ground. But now I'm not local.

Maybe we need to use birth certificates. Anyone not born in Liverpool is out
