Booked Tuesday evening flight with BA from Heathrow. Returning Thursday morning. £111 return. Also booked 4 bed Air BNB in the centre that will work out at £50 / man / night.

Has anyone got any idea of how to source tickets then?

Yeah, go to the other rounds.

Care to elaborate?
I'm a student and the prices on Viagogo are ludicrous.

Sounds harsh but you need to go the games or you should have entered the ballot. Don't buy off touts.

Why the fuck did UEFA pick a stadium with such a small capacity 9000 allocation if we qualify is going to mean a hell of a lot of disappointed Liverpool fans.

There would be if it was a 90k seater to be fair. Mainly English clubs who travel enmasse so as we haven't bothered recently not surprising

This is a word of warning because if we get to the final getting into the neutral areas is going to be a blood bath.

The tickets for the neutral sections are all e-tickets which means you can print them off as many times as you like.

First person in wont have a problem but if it has been multi printed which a lot of people looking to make a quick buck are going to do a lot of people are going to get rejected- so don't risk buying an e ticket unless it's from someone you know.

Our section if we get there is going to be normal paper tickets so there won't be the same problem there.

Surely there will be more than 9k allocated?

What do people think the selling criteria will be from LFC if we did make the final?

I thought that. Seems very poor in terms of security for a final unless they're going to cross reference with passports. Especially after the Paris and Brussels attacks.

I think it may well be stricter this year for the tickets via the neutral ballot at least. Printing at home means they have to be, otherwise it's an avenue to scam people left right and centre!

One of my mates who is a full time ticket trader/tout whatever you want to call him (does all teams, all sports, music, gigs etc) has said with the e-ticket thing he won't be working the Champions League final this year. He's worked every one since Istanbul. Also in Italy they check ID on tickets anyway so he thinks it will be difficult to transfer/sell them.

Also for Europa League final he thinks the same due to recent events in Paris and Brussels and the general security fears. On top of that, the whole e-ticket thing is guaranteed to lead to issues and people not getting in so he said he'll be staying clear of both finals (at least for any e-ticket areas) as he said he would end up having to refund a lot of people when they don't get in.

So even if a trader/tout is saying he is staying clear, I think it is probably wise to listen to his 'professional' opinion if we do make it.

Interesting points Tony.

I've got one in the ballot, but hopefully would qualify for one through the club as well.

If we do get there and I get one from the club I'd for sure pass my ballot ticket onto my mate but I'd be very worried how this will work.

The e-ticket and a low capacity suggest maybe they will do some checking? The only thing I could think of doing is giving my mate a letter and copy of my official ID or something and just hope it's enough.

This is one of them where it's good but also bad. Good because you don't get the Dortmund away farce of tickets a day before and stops touting. But bad because you've got thousands of tickets people will want to shift (due to shite allocations and ballots and all that) and then you've potentially got thousands of empty seats.

I can see the potential for empty seats here?

What I would recommend in this scenario is you go with your mate to the turnstile with the neutral ticket. Then some common sense should prevail.

But I think it is crystal clear that anyone thinking of buying from unofficial sources should ask the seller to escort them to the turnstile to make sure they get in. The reality is, whatever people's opinion is on the matter, is that people will get desperate and pay touts if we make the final. Whilst not condoning it, all I will say is if you do go down that route INSIST you are escorted to the turnstile and that you get in. Nothing worse than seeing people part with silly sums of money and then the ticket doesn't work.

We get there then they need to organise properly easy 25000 reds heading out there ... Swiss police are wankers and won't have faced any sort of fan invasion like that you know loads will be on the bunk all over the ground could get nasty if they don't organise properly.

This place is not easy to get to, to stay in or get out of! I did the day trip for the Champs League group game in 2014 - loads easier.

I've sorted a marathon event of planes, trains and automobiles.

I'll have to see if we don't get there if I go or just take the hit on the flights.

It's not ideal booking like this but leaving it until after the semi final second leg and then leaving it until the club have put out selling criteria it makes it absolutely impossible. Impossible financially and impossible because nothing will be available.

This is for the UEFA ballot. We haven't beaten Villarreal yet so please hold off discussing LFC ticket allocation for the final.

May have secured myself an e-ticket through a mate but it's just the 1 and he 100% can't go. Was thinking a photocopy of his passport but with my photo edited in (Claim I left my actual passport in the hotel), as well as some sort of transport card (easy to acquire) with my pic and his name to back it up would surely be enough? How thorough can they possibly be?

I don't know how thorough they'll be but I wouldn't fancy getting caught trying to get into a major sporting event with a forged passport at a time when concerns about terrorism are so high.

I'm sure there are better, more acceptable ways to do it - letter of authority and proof of identity from your mate.

Very fair comment that. The fear of not getting in is strong but it isn't a great time to be trying things like that I suppose.

Got 2 via the ballot,im camping on the Rhine about 30mins walk from the stadium at £12 a night.Packing the tent into one case and using the other for clothes.Goinf Tues to Saturday and travelling to the Alps from Thursday.
Anyone been to a match involving LFC via a ballot before? If you look at the allocated areas for these tickets there are some in all areas of the ground,ie certain priced tickets behind the goal at each end of the ground/corners etc at each end.Im assuming this is so that they can potentially allocate a person from England a ticket for LFC if they make it? (or for the team relevant to their country)Im assuming this is why you cant print until 8th May after the semis so they can attempt to place you in amongst your own side where possible?
Also is there likely to be a fan park type scenario? You would assume as stated that there will be well over 9000 travelling fans from LFC?
Anyone got any experiences with where to drink in Basel thats not gonna cost £6 a pop?....any cheaper food outlets etc?

Thankfully common sense has prevailed although whoever thought that e-tickets was a good idea for this is an idiot.

Any one successful in the ballot had an email to say their tickets have been sent? I'm a bit worried as they've been sent via Chronopost and I've heard nothing but bad reviews about them! Nobody will be in ours in the day all week, I'm assuming there's no depot in this country so I'm wondering what's going to happen to the tickets?
