Pochetino will be off in a year or two. The tight financial constraints that are going to be set for the next few seasons will eventually annoy him enough to move to a club like PSG.

I don't see anything wrong with that statement.

Lloris, Vertongen, Alderweireld, Dembele and Rose would all improve Barca.

It's always much more enjoyable to take the piss out of Spurs, as opposed to w@nking over their team.

Can you imagine what would happen in this forum, if we did not buy anybody and just sold Clyne to City for 50 Mil.

They usually do this wait till near end of window.

And to be honest best thing spurs can do right now is simply not rip that team up. If they add one or two that's all they need.

Walker to city isn't a loss for them considering their back up isn't much worse and Walker is massively overrated.

Yeah because Spurs didn't have any bad injuries either. Like Kane missing two months of the season, Rose out since January, Lamela out all season, Vertonghen missing two months.

Defending was the only difference imo. Poch is one year ahead of Klopp, however with 86 pts and 86 goals they've pretty much hit the ceiling, it's almost impossible to improve on that, not just for them but for any big club in the league. We on the other hand can reach that level because defensively there is a big room for improvement.

no reason to fear Spurs, very good manager and some excellent players. Again interesting season ahead for these they finished 3rd then 2nd now they will want /expect to finish 1st. Quiet summer so far, lost a 1st teamer and by all accounts very quiet summer expected on the transfer front (spurs fan i know reckons there is talk of issues behind the scenes Pochetino & board).
Really cant see them improving on last season as things stand and other sides have strengthened.I
m gonna go out on a limb here & say they will finish 6th this season. Sorry Jose you may have to move.

Also they were far better defensively.

Yeah that's the key, in the games where they were struggling to break down a stubborn team they'd get to the final few minutes of the game and still be stuck at 0-0, only for someone to score a half chance. When we struggled to break down stubborn teams we'd be 1-0 or 2-0 down at that point and unable to win.

I'm biased but for the role he plays in a side, Dembele walks into any side in the world. Now whether or not a team sets up in a way which requires a Dembele type player is another point, but for what he brings, he is pretty much peerless.

Seen enough of them.

Rose gets in ahead of Alba who has been woefully off form for a while now, Lloris ahead of Stegen, Vertonghen or Alderweireld ahead of Umtiti and Dembele ahead of Rakitic. Alba at his best is a cut above Rose but he's not what he was 3 years ago.

Lloris
Semedo
Pique
Vertonghen/Alderweireld
Rose
Busquets
Iniesta
Dembele
Neymar
Suarez
Messi

That seems fair to me.

If they fail to get top 4, it won't be because of any transfer business. It would be because they've given up the best home record in Europe to go to Wembley.

I can see them not getting too 4 easily.

There are six top clubs going for four places.  Missing out would be no surprise at all.

That's not me having a dig at spurs either...

Had they stayed at the lane I'd say they'd be very likely getting top 4 and a decent chance at a title challenge.
Not the same team away from home, and Wembley is very much away from home.

mix of both actually. Giving up lane and not strengthening when all the top 4 are already looking stronger than last season. Wont be shocked if they finish out of CL places. Losing Alli and Kane is seriously going to impact the quality of their play.

They will have no home games next season, so I doubt that they will finish in the top 4, especially if they don't sign some improvements.

Losing Alli and Kane? Last time I checked they were fully committed Spurs players and going nowhere....

Look, we hear it every summer, but the fact is, other teams have to strengthen just to catch up with Spurs, let alone move ahead of them.

When I look at it, Spurs as of this moment, still have one of the top 3 GKs in the league, in Lloris, the best CB in the league in Alderweireld, top 2 DM in the league in Wanyama (Kante being the other), statistically the best attacking midfielder in the league in Eriksen, a powerhouse who dominates every opposition in midfield in Dembele, and three attacking players who hit over 20 goals each last season in Son, Alli and Kane, and the best striker in the league in Kane.

So other clubs can sign as many players as they want, but they have it all to do to prove they can be as good as the players Spurs have, let alone better.

I do agree that playing at Wembley could affect us big time, but all this nonsense about other clubs signing new players automatically means they are stronger is just that, nonsense.

It makes me laugh when fans say that because their clubs have spent loads of money, it automatically means they have strengthened. No, the teams have strengthened when the players prove their quality, until then, all the clubs have done is spend lots of money.

Chelsea have just spent 70 odd million on Morata but is there a hope in hell he scores more than Kane next season?
Salah has it all to do to match Son's output last season, in fact he probably won't get close to over 20 goals.
United have just spent 80 odd million to buy a striker who couldn't even score more than Kane despite Kane missing 3 months of the season through injury.
