Hehe, yeah we stayed at the MGM for a week, we'd been in California for a couple weeks then went over to Vegas. Only made it to that one session though, 25 dollars. bargain.

What happened in the qualifiers mate? You get close?

Frost misses 6 darts at the double (4 at D12, 1 at D6 and 1 at D3) to break Barney.

Barney leading 11-10* and looking likely to finish it now.

Barney misses a dart at D18 to win the match, Frpst then misses two at D20 to level it up at 10-10 before Barney checks out D18 next time round.

I'm not sure what it is about Blackpool but Barney seems to struggle. He was sweating absolute buckets.

Awesome night of darts
Super MC carried on his brilliant form from floor tourneys to the stage, the last we will see Lewis for a while, his ban kicks in now, as does Painters.
Beaton played very well against Taylor, but the Power doing just enough to hold him back.
Frosty giving Barney a scare and Mason not showing up at all unfortunately!
Pick of todays games, the in form Hamilton against the wonder boy Mighty Mike

Today's matches:

Afternoon Session
1st Round

Ronnie Baxter v Andy Smith
Alan Tabern v Vincent van der Voort
Andy Hamilton v Michael van Gerwen
Peter Manley v Denis Ovens

Evening Session
1st Round

James Wade v Wayne Jones
2nd Round
Phil Taylor v Colin Osborne
Kevin McDine v Mark Walsh

Tabern/van der Voort and Hamilton/van Gerwen both have the potential to be crackers, if they all pull out their A game. Pity I'll be at work  :no

Osborne might give Phil Taylor a good game if on top form, but I can't see past Taylor tonight.

taylor was on a different planet against osbourne last night. at one stage he was leading 10-0 with an average of 115. i think mcdine night be a bit overawed against him tonight.

mardle-barney should be a belter.

If Mardle can get into rhythm early then I think he stands a good chance. Barney's finishing was top drawer last night (though Tony Eccles really didn't come close to his form from against Painter) but he still looks completely at odds with himself over his inconsistent scoring - that drift into the 5 was really pissing him off.

Tabern against Priestley has the potential to be a great game. The Saint's been throwing really well recently - though I love Dennis would like to see Tabern get to at least the semis in another big tournament.

Barney doesn't seem to cope well with Blackpool, whether its the heat or just the atmosphere i dont know but

Come on Wayne!!!!!!!!!!!

Dennis Priestley first through to the semi-finals with a 16-14 win over Alan Tabern.

Though I was hoping to see Tabern make another major semi still made up for Dennis after battling back from illness this year (and he's also one of my all time darting heroes).

Clark and Wade up next.

Brilliant standard in this final so far.

James Wade has the class and bottle to beat Taylor here.

So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Taylor drops more names than legs of darts these days.

Amazing standard, especially for those last 10 legs.

Pity that the last three matches of the tournament have, basically, been non-events in terms of getting a proper contest.

Onwards to the City West in October. . .
