Not too bothered. If it was an away game there I’d be more worried like when Shakespeare took over.

I definitely got Swansea 13/14vibes. Would definitely prefer a boring 1 or 2-0 these days but good character shown again. Hopefully Trent fit for the next game.
I can’t see Leicester saying to a new manager, here you go, Liverpool away first up. They’ve got a much easier game after us.

12 wins from 15 will be enough I think.

Keep knocking them off, 1 at a time.

I think that's actually pretty standard procedure. A lot of manager's first games seem to be against some of the best sides, as they have basically nothing to lose.

Source - literally nothing, just basing this on my memory

Thats 96 points with 3 losses, 99 if we draw the other 3.

Surely either would be enough but you just never know.

Could be, personally I’d want a new manager starting at home although situation doesn’t always allow that. You’re right though, would be a free hit. Klopp started at Spurs which was a very tough opener.

Everything is going as expected - I expect City to be 1 point behind us when we play Leicester and then I expect us to go 4 ahead again.

Then it gets tasty.

City play Arsenal at home the day before we play West Ham away.

Then we play Bournemouth at home the day before City play Chelsea at home.

Then City play Everton away the day before we play United away.

You have to look at these games as the really important ones to get through.

If we're still 4 points or better ahead of them after this then we have an outstanding chance to go on and do it.

The big one for me is Everton away, because City already have them 3 points to be honest...

There's just no scenario in the world in which Everton don't allow City to win that game just like 2013/2014. That means City have one less fixture than us in the run up to May

Ah yeah.

I'm trying to take it one game at a time but doing it more in chunks - I see this 'chunk' I've just mentioned as vital as there's games where both of us could slip up in whereas I looked at our last two games plus this Leicester one coming up and City's games against Wolves, Huddersfield and Newcastle as games where it would be unthinkable for either of us to drop points.

Even if Everton played like they were bothered they should get slaughtered. We'll beat them if we don't let the derby 'emotion' overcome us - I'm more concerned of a few injuries from shithouse challenges in that game to be honest.

They're still good though, albeit their in a shite run of form, but they're one of the only teams who've caused us major problems this season.

I see this as a list of teams that could realistically take points off City left now:

Arsenal
Chelsea
United (A)
Spurs
Palace (A)

I include Palace because it's away and they already beat City this season (and caused us some problems today)

It would be mental for them to drop points in any other game they have left if you look at their fixtures. But then you have to hope cup games affecting them come into play.

They dropped points against Leicester, Wolves and Palace. It’s hardly beyond the realms of possibility they might come up against a side like that, particularly after a run of games in a short amount of time, and drop points again.

I know...

Well.

The one hope we have is that Newcastle can "Rafa" them in two weeks time for a draw, probably a 0-0 if so. Aside from that, we're heading into Leicester one point ahead. I'd guess City will win 4-0 or something once they burst the bubble. There's no way Huddersfield can cope with all the raw pace and technical ability.

You need a bit of luck to win a title to be fair but we’ve been fucking fantastic and controlled 95% of games so far. Hearing some Utd fans go on you’d think Fergie time, compliant refs, dodgy penalties, unbelievable flukes and huge slices of good fortune had never helped them get over the line in the past 25 years. All part and parcel of it.

I think the Newcastle game could spring a surprise for City. Rafa is a master at setting up his teams to nullify the other teams attack and Newcastle will probably have all their injured players back by then. Anyway, as long as we keep doing our business it won’t matter. Today could have been a potential slip up and I knew Palace are just an extremely awkward team to play against. But we came through it which will only make us mentally stronger.

Nah not this year's Newcastle.  They have been simply dreadful defensively home and away and incapable of making life difficult for any of the top teams.  Look at how easily we demolished them the other day and it really hasn't been down to injuries.  City will cruise.
