Red Missile not fancied (9.4 on betfair). Risky.

I might back the Favourite  in the race (Mersin). Don't know yet.  It's looks like quite a competitive maiden...

Red Missile bolts up.  I was weighted on the Fav but had a few quid on. went off at 6.4

Should have done the exacta again but thought better...

Haggas bandwagon still going strong !

No maiden's today but I like the look of :

Dubai Instinct in the 4:40 @ Bath. Trainer in good form and good jockey booked will hopefully go well at a  big price.

The 2.20 at Sandown is massively interesting, some of the breeding is off the charts.

Of the newcomers, Godolphin send a 2.3m yearling, Symbolic Power is out of Kingman and a Montjeu mare. Martyn Meade and Ballylinch Stud have a 500,000 guineas yearling to unleash, first foal of a 99 rated middle distance mare and by Galileo.

Love is Golden for Johnston is the one that really interests me though not just for tomorrow but for what could await in the future if he's not Johnstoned; as far as I can see the dam has had produced 8 runners, six winners and nothing with an RPR below 94! Love is Golden is a half brother to Sea of Class and like his close relatives he'll likely want even further than this mile in time. Golden Horn is on siring duties this time.

Like the sound of Love is Golden. Given a better draw I think Sea of Class would have beaten Enable in her second Arc. She was very good such a shame she’s no longer with us.

2:20 No bet Gerry... I dont like betting first time out (FTO) though Godolphin are one of two or three outfits I would be tempted however the price is skinny.  it's the most likely winner but I'll probably watch.  If it drifts to a backable price i will have an interest.

Here's mine for today (Maidens/Novices)

12:35 San: Pure Dreamer - Andrew Balding has the Fav and he is in poor form so happy to take it on with Richard Hannon's runner who is in form and is fancied in the market (as of writing). By top sire Oasis Dream.

Haggas bandwagon rolls on ...

19:20 Wolv: Bint Australia - Hot trainer & this filly is by Derby winner Australia so trip is no problem. Kingscote is a good jockey booking and it's fancied in the market (as of writing). What's not to like...

Good luck!

I will not be backing Pure Dreamer. Has too many negatives.

So just the Haggas horse for me.

I picked out Pure Dreamer because his debut run is working out quite nicely, there hasn't been a penny for him though so I don't think I'll bother. A slight drift is okay, but he opened up 2/1 last night and he's 100/30 already.

Yeah big negative... and a new comer is 2nd Fav so big warning flag for me Gerry!

@Gerry: I usually only like to back Fav/2nd Fav especially in Maidens.

If I really like a selection and I think the market has got it wrong I will go small (like half my normal stake) or e/w.  Really depends on a number of factors. Most of my decisions are made just as they go in the  stalls as markets can move fast !

It's really crazy and wild sometimes...

That Maiden was terrific....

The horse to take out of it was Lone Eagle (Galileo) beaten a neck. Rare to see them so ready first time time @ 2 years old so looks like an exciting prospect to follow .

The favourite in the Sweet Solera at Newmarket looks short considering decent opposition. Danilova and Dubai Fountain look decent prices to take her on with. Leaning towards the Godolphin filly.

Haggas bandwagon rolls on...

3:15 Haydock Ajyaall

Don't normally back First Time Out (FTO) but Haggas is in form and has a record of having FTO winners at Haydock:

W. Haggas: First Time Out, Haydock, 3yo: 4 wins from 9 runs (44.4%) Profit: +£10.00

Colt by Kingman (top sire) and top course jockey Kingscote booked.  If he is supported in the market (2nd/3rd Fav) I will be backing this.

Good luck!

Haggas bandwagon rolls on...

13:00 Windsor: Mary Cassatt

Filly by Gutaifan (a good sire of 2yo's) for the IN form Haggas yard.  Hoping for an improved showing on her 2nd start.   The Fav is from the Mick Channon stable and has weaknesses in my eyes.  Though I may do the forecast to protect myself.

9/2 she is ...

That's a really poor race in my opinion. Usually in a nursery you see one that's very well bred for powerful owners that could improve a ton, but not this time. Most of them have struggled to make an impact at poor tracks like Wolves, Chepstow, Lingfield, Thirsk, Ripon etc. You couldn't rule anything out in the race, considering how little winning it should take. If I was having a bet I would probably take a chance on Johnston's improving for an extra furlong considering he has at least got one piece of good form finishing 7 and a bit lengths behind Method of Martyn Meade and Fev Rover was second that day, who's won a listed race and went down a nose at Ascot.

Can understand it as they don’t want another tough race ahead of her main aim but, really disappointing that.

Yeah Gerry it's simply because Hughie has hit a patch of form and Murphy is booked which is sucking me in.  I'm really struggling to  find any value today . Not having a lot on by any means.

Also noticed Malone Road is making his comeback this evening at Ballinrobe. Looked a star of the future a couple of years ago when bolting up in bumpers but has missed most of the last two years injured. Interesting to see if he can now reach the top over hurdles or if injuries have taken too much away.

Edit: Scratch that he’s a non runner! Presumably ground a bit lively to be risked on

Decent price win or e/w.. I'll go for the win.

Hoping she can build on debut run and opposition isn't much special.

Some real nice types out today on the All weather ...

Godolphin and Stoute going head to head  it's very tough to pick between them but I prefer Godolphin's because of the sire Dubawi who is more proven than Frankel.

16:55 Kemp Dubai Welcome (Dubawi)
Will hopefully improve from 1st run

19:10 Wolv: Mutalahef (Kingman) Marcus Tregoning in real good form and this colt should improve

19:40 Wolv: Endured (Shamardal)- Marco Botti in form and this one is a big price (might be a good idea to go e/w)

Some selections for tonight:

19:10 Spirit Dancer e/w - Will hopefully make the frame and could upset the Fav who is far too short (odds on).

19:40 Heaven Forfend - Stoute's horses running well (as noted). Champ jockey booked for this Frankel colt . Tonight could be the night for him.

Some thoughts/selections for today:

13:10: Salisbury Modmin: This colt has a nice middle distance pedigree and trainer Marcus Tregoning is in form. Jockey Jim Crowley is a big plus.  I will back her if she stays prominent in the market (currently 5.4)

16:10 Hamilton Throne Hall: Kevin Ryan in amazing form and this colt by Kingman (leading Stallion) should improve and go close I think.

Best of luck!

Ground is Firm (good to firm in places). I suspect he doesn’t like risking his horses on such a firm surface. A number of the good ones he’s had have been fragile. There were a number of other Nr’s in that race as well
