If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

How are we doing this?

If they played football at a top level in the 1990's or were born in a certain year (making them 1990's players mostly)?

For those who enjoy the research process, I am trying to understand the ground rules -- if they played 1 professional game in the 90's?

Help

I’m sure that will get hammered out. I was going to say it should be someone who played the majority of his career in the 90s rather than 80s or 00s but that’s going to be pretty tricky to track.

Basically if they featured on Gazetta Italia or a Des Lynam hosted MOTD they’re fine.

So, Ronaldinho started his career at Gremio in 1998 (played 3 seasons) and came to Europe (PSG) for a couple more and then Barca...

Does he count?  He started in the 90's but his best footy was in the next few years --- I am sure there are several hundreds of players that exist in this scenario that are legends but not in the decade we are drafting.

Overlap - how will this be handled?

Socrates played football until 1989 before retiring. Then he played 1 game for Garforth Town in 2004. Is is eligible?

Easiest way seems to be draft whoever you want, but they'll only be judged on their appearances in the 90s?

As long they do. I’m warning people now. One remotely dubious pick and I’m voting against you. I’d rather vote for a team of Phil Stamps and Ian Culverhouses than a team with a Ronaldinho or Socrates in it.

This is what should happen, but we all know someone will find Messi made a one minute appearance for Newells Old Boys in 1999 and pick him.

If people want to be more strict then we can get some rules put in place before any drafting starts

It never works out that way though, people end up voting for the best players and dismiss any other criteria.  Maybe we can limit it to players with at least 150 club appearances in the 90s?

Need 5 to get this thing going and the Wwe wrestling thingy is chalk full at 17 --- several overlaps so lets get a move on - if we need finish this out at 12 -- so be it.

You've got to PM some guys from previous drafts, my friend. Not everyone checks this forum daily or even ever these days with drafts so thin on the ground. I always used to chase people to sign up. People like to be wanted!

I'll join as well by the way. I'm just superstitious and can only sign up at a specific number in the list  ;D
