Shockingly, I have never seen Liverpool live despite being born in the city and supporting them all my life. Was far too poor as a kid to afford tickets. Now have the cash, but always seems impossible to get tickets.

Thank you.

Yeah, back on topic, good draw this. They are no mugs, but should be able to rest some first teamers and give youth and those returning from injuries a run out and still get through.

Strongest team available please. After all, it's still silverware. And that's what we're all about.

Wanted to win it in 1984 and wanted twice as much to win it in 2005. Stands to reason I want to win it twice as much as I wanted to win it in 2005 which means I want to win it four times as much as I did in 1984.

Let's hope we do win it because I don't want to want to win it eight times as much next year as I did in 1984...

We have to win this, for loads of reasons.  It might a bit of a dud as a spectacle in its current format, but it’s the only world championship out there.  Man Utd have one now, we need one of our own.  And we’d get a shiny badge on the shirt, I want that.  Plus the European side wins it nearly every time out now, we can’t be the ones who don’t.

Hope we win every trophy but there is a pecking order and our best players can’t play every single game.

I doubt we'll go full strength for both games given the opposition but I'd be shocked if it wasn't the first xi in the final. Would be disappointed to travel all that way and come back empty handed. It's the one title we haven't won and I've no doubt we'll come back with it. Another trophy for Jurgen and his mighty reds!

Depreciation is for the 'Liverpool is Shite' thread... ;)

Seriously, I would hope it wouldn't interfere with a Title Charge (and would understand if we had to make a choice to prioritise) but the opportunity to win this does not come along often enough (for the moment) and I want to grab this while we can..

Last season the kickoffs were 16:30 UK time for the Real Madrid games so I'd expect similar this season.

There’s no way we send anything less than a full strength squad. I’m sure Jurgen will manage them over the two games, but no way any fit player stays at home. I’d imagine it’ll be almost the strongest 11 in the final if we reach it.

Depends on the league and CL really. If we're winning all our games I'd rest a couple of the the front three for Ox, Shaq; if not, well, sod that cup! But our squad is good enough to win anyway.

Complete rotation for the semi final, beat whoever it is and then play the full side in the final.

No disrespect but look at the teams we could play, Esperance de Tunis, Hienghene Sport, Al Sadd - they won't be able to live with us if we take it the slightest bit seriously. I'd assume Monterrey are the best of those sides, given we can't play the Libertadores winner in the semi, but even so, we should be able to beat them comfortably.

The South American teams take it very seriously, and if we're going there we might as well win it. The quality of SA football isn't what it was when we lost those finals, so I'm very confident going into this. Just hope we're doing well in the league so it doesn't become a hindrance.

The gauntlet has been thrown down.

Gremio president Romildo Bolzan Jr. has "beatable" Liverpool present a real opportunity for South American clubs to win the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup.

The Brazilian side are in the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores, where they will face Flamengo -- and the winners of that tie will take on either Boca Juniors or River Plate in the final.

The winners of the Libertadores will go into the FIFA Club World Cup in December alongside all the continental champions. No non-European side has won the trophy since Corinthians beat Chelsea in 2012, but Bolzan Jr. said the South American teams will fancy their chances against Liverpool, who beat Tottenham 2-0 in the Champions League final.

"The favourites [for the FIFA Club World Cup] are always the European teams," he told Fox Sports. "I am certain Liverpool are less frightening that Real Madrid, who we faced [in 2017].

"Liverpool are a team that can be beaten. By us, by Flamengo, by Boca, by River. Real Madrid were a team of galacticos -- full of superstars.

"We lost 1-0 to Real Madrid in 2017. We could have taken the game to penalties and there, anything could have happened. Just like we did with Ajax in 1995, where we lost, and Hamburg in 1983 in extra time."

The 2019 FIFA Club World Cup will take place in Qatar from Dec. 11 to 21, with Real Madrid having won the last three editions.

Yup, tinpot tournament with no real saving grace. If we are top of the table or thereabouts at the start of December, I won't send a full strength squad to this tournament.

You shouldn't take any chances with squad management especially given the club's struggles in January and February last season. However, it's a delicate balancing act, of course, given that last season the players typically didn't perform well after an enforced break so maybe it is better for them to keep playing football.

I just personally don't want to take any risks with the title challenge this year.

It's a nice thing to take seriously if we were either 12 points clear or 12 adrift by December. Since neither is likely, we should really use our squad. At most, our top players play 45 minutes maximum per game.

If we're not 2/3 up by then anyway, just make teh changes and let squad players try to win it.

Want to win this, and I suspect our top players will want to win this too.

Bit of rotation will be need obviously though. This is one for the likes of Shaqiri, Keita (please Fowler!) and maybe Brewster to start games..

Rotate Mane, Salah and Bobby aggressively.
