The Match Day Sermon

God Bless you Kopites one and All
One-Nil to the redmen beforeth the Sabbath day
Reading did come for a shaft up the bum
And did take it well I must say

That baldy bastard in the yellow shirt
Doth tryeth his best to Jimmy Saville us
Despite his efforts young Raheem escaped his noncery
And poached a beauty in thowst bottom bin

Onwards and upwards my fine red disciples
Nexteth come the bitters at the blue corpse dungeon
Where many a fine day we have had
Lets hope King Luis diveth in the last minute for a
1-0 winning peno taken by Stevie G
And oh how we shall rejoice, rejoice and laugh at the bellwhiffs at dusk

Amen

Loss a bit control on the game after the goal, allowed them back into it in the second half, they could of snatched a goal, though Brad Jones played well, composed and dominated the box.

Louis Suarez on the end of chances, Sterling played well faded a little near the end, good substitutions by Brendan.

Liverpool MoM  Stevie G great support and athleticism although must say good performance by all.

What we did look like in the second half was a bunch of players who were away on internationals all around the world not long before. I do wish people would take some delight in winning ugly. I think we need to win a few ugly ones. They're as good for confidence as sticking 5 goals in.

One of the ugliest wins I can remember. I don't know why it is so hard for us to score...especially against newly promoted teams at home. Have to improve.

Poor second half and a complete inability to finish once again. We look very fragile when defending and relief is the overriding emotion. But fuck it, a win, 3 points and we move up the table. Brad Jones was solid today; he comes across as a top bloke and I am very pleased for him.

All over the place defensively.  They picked up too many second balls in and around the box in the second half for my liking.
Need to be more clinical and learn to close games out but that will come as confidence grows.

A wins a win - 3 points and a clean sheet. Onwards & upwards.

Well done Brad Jones - thought he did well today.

Oh and Barry Horne is a knob.

A win is a win, should have put the game to bed. But i'll take it. Well done Sterling!

Phew! That was tough but at least we had 3 points whis is the most important thing right now. Home win does exist!

Suarez looked tired and need to be rested. Wasted so many chances today.

3 points is all that matters, can point to not adding more goals and making it easier for ourselves, but I feel grateful for the win.

Suarez looked dead on his feet on the second half.  He was pushing himself but i don't think his body could keep up with his mind.  Jones had a faultless game, but was worrying that he had to have one.

That's true. I thought we were very poor in the second half and it's not often that we get a win when playing relatively poorly. Gave away the ball an awful lot and could have been punished. We weren't (for a change) and we finally register a home win :)

Good solid performance and a vital win to kick start the season again. Sterling took his goal superbly which was good to see. Again we were wasteful with chances especially Suarez but they'll come for the lad. Happy :)

A goal. A goal. An actual goal. Seems like ages since we scored one even though it actually isn't.

Really nervous at the end there but f-ck it - its a clean sheet with our 2nd keeper between the sticks.

Mike Marsh - http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/marsh-on-reading-ngoo-and-anfield

I think if Adam does get the chance to play on a regular basis for the first team it won't be in a central position because we've got Luis Suarez there, so that's the thinking behind it.

That is such a fucking worrying statement. Suarez had 9 shots today, he put 6 of them wide.
It goes way beyond that as well. Suarez always tries things which have such a low percentage chance of coming off - sometimes he just floats the ball towards the box. I'd rather Suarez (and not Borini) had got injured because I honestly don't think he is good for this team.

Without doubt one of the most idiotic posts I've read on here. Have a fucking word with yourself.

3 points, clean sheet. Job done.

We need to win against Anzhi to have any hope of making it through, particularly because we're at home.

Suarez is our new Dirk Kuyt. For most reasons.  Work ethic fantastic. Every 2nd touch being a tackle and generally poor in front of goal.

Brad Jones superb. Johnson superb. Gerrard kept it ticking over.  Jonjo gets his place back next week.

Also Enrique was really good
Must admint Cesc is a great prospect new him before he went to Arsenal, same with Pique(now at ManU) and Messi also from Barcelona. Watch out for these guys in the future look very good.

Get him in the scouting team ASAP!
