I could give you a narky reply and say read any of about the last 10 pages. But as I'm in a good mood I'll forgive your laziness.

RAOTL give two awards - Golden Sambas, one for player of the season, one for young player of the season. Jordan won the latter and Martin won the former.

Fordy at full swing, there's a surprise...

Henderson is not a finished article, and I happen to think that this is to his enormous advantage. Nex season Lucas will be back, and if he comes back the same player, I'd rather Henderson molded his game to complement that of Lucas. Henderson's justified strongest criticism is that he can't put his qualities into a specific role - defensive, attacking, box to box, or whatever. But isn't that the beauty? He needs to do that with Lucas in the team. For now, his place in central midfield is fully justified in my eyes. I'd go as far to say that this season Gerrard had offered very little (for whatever reason he doesn't play in his best and by far most effective position), so Henderson in the center doesn't look too bad of an option.

This is the "Fuck all the Haters Award".

One more thing, the Henderson haters have gone from saying "he's shite" to "he's no world beater".

That's their way of saying they're initially wrong about him

The two young lads, Shelvey [20] and Henderson [21], in the middle of the pitch were fantastic with the work-rate they got through and both of them scored too.

I'd been defending Henderson a lot this season, I'm glad popular opinion has swinged around to what I see in him.

Henderson (21) and Shelvey (20) are both great young talents with bags of potential, the tiresome bollocks about Henderson's price tag aside. If these two were Spanish and playing for Bilbao, the same people on here should be wanking themselves silly and asking why we don't buy exciting young players like that. We should be bloody happy we've got them, developing their game and playing together I can see them being the future of our midfield.

The problem has been that without Lucas they've been asked too much in the right now.

Let's not discredit how Henderson & Shelvey got on last night.

As much as Chelea were playing a team who effectively won't start the CL final, they were trying to make an impression on DiMatteo for the same squad.
Chelsea were totally outplayed in every department last night.
And Henderson played a big part in the overall performance.

Noone's saying he's world class or anything like that.

However you've stated repeatedly he's utter shite and that's all he'll ever be.

Which he's clearly not.

Nah, everyones entitled to their opinion on here and I'll gladly listen to your view on why he won't make it at Liverpool, even if I disagree with it. I don't post much in the main board because 99% of it is filled with quims like you belittling our players at any given oppurtunity, and I'm certainly gonna pull you up on it as soon as you start with the know it all attitude. Basically covering your own arse with "I told you that was his best position" when only last week you were saying he was utter shite and so forth. I wouldnt be arsed listening to it. :wave

If he plays well? What for 4 games?

When he plays well in 90% of total games played then fine.

He is an average player for him to become good will take a hell of a lot improvement.

So yeah I am ready for the stick - wont truely happen though. Those that give me stick now are just wum as henderson has been woeful this season.

Was he though? He played RM regularly for Sunderland and when he came here that's were I expected him to get most of his games, not as a winger but as a RM like Ramires.

I thought the same when he signed, but his better performances have definitely come when he's been in the centre and that's where I hope he stays.

Or have a different opinion. Like me. I think he's been anything but woeful and those that can't see his talent don't get football... but that's just me ;).

We all have different opinions on players though. Like those who think you're completely mad for your love of Adam :P

Yep. I think we'll really see him grow alongside Lucas as well.

Misconception.

Been repeated in this thread several times.

He played out wide for Sunderland, but the majority of games were from CM.

Agreed and people aren't taking into account a lot of our big players, such as Gerrard, haven't managed many good games this season either.

Hes done well in a team which is short of leaders ATM going through a tough time.

People on here expecting a 21yo lad in his first season to step up and take charge need to shut the fuck up and let the kid grow. The lack of support is infuriating. I hate to say it but other clubs above us have far more supportive fans when it comes to younger players. People are quick to defend older players, tugging on the heart strings of loyalty and past experiences, when ignoring the fact they hold a leadership role in the squad themselves. Instead they pick on the likes of Carroll, Henderson and co.

People do forget he is only 21, People also forget that if Lucas,Adam and Gerrard had been fit all season, Henderson wouldnt of figure as much

It's the same scenario as when we lost Alonso and Lucas was thrown in, and the look how he has turned out!

Me personally i dont want to see Henderson moulded into a destroyer like Lucas, i would much rather henderson stay as a box to box midfielder that does a bit of both, he certainly has the engine for it!

What a midfield Lucas, Henderson and Shelvey could turn out to be!

Forgive me if it's been posted already but I think we saw a lot more of what he can do in a central midfield role that we've had a hint at from before.

He couldn't have scored the goal he did against Chelsea coming in from the right, and I think we could have seen a few more from him this season were our often mentioned luck a bit better, seem to recall him hitting the woodwork a couple of times from the edge of the box and that mad one on one he had at Stoke where he hit the keeper like three times.

Like others have said, he's definitely not a world beater but he (like everyone else in the team) really would look better with a fit Lucas behind him and an on form Carroll up front to bring him into games more.

Also, he's not got much of a reputation for it but I noticed against Chelsea he wasn't afraid to put a tackle in and never seemed to stop running.
