dont think speed matters imo unless your a heavy downloader/streamer.
Yeah, that's what the local ISP who keeps sending me mailers saying they can "double my speed for half the price" say when I call them up and ask if they can
really double my speed.
Then, all of a sudden it becomes "Well, you know, you don't really need that much speed... and you can save some money by switching to our plan at 1/10th your speed..."
I don't stream, but I download on occasion. And just in general, I like things to be fast.
Yes, I got by on a 28.8 modem from 1996-1999 (our phone lines couldn't handle faster than that). But now, with so much garbage on most websites, I'm doing what I can on my end to minimise the wait.
for online games or voip for instance quality of connection counts more.
I don't do VOIP, and I don't think a text-based MUD cares too much about "quality of connection" considering it was fine on the aforementioned 28.8.
