Love the simplicity of this little machine. Hope it gets the virtual console stuff later down the line.
It was one of the selling points of their online service, wasn't it?

Not they haven’t confirmed VC yet.

Nego geo classics on switch have sold 1mil games. That alone should tell Nintendo a Virtual Console would be goldmine.

zero gunner 2 is now on the e store. recall zero gunner was a great shooter on the dreamcast.

Great game, still have my DC version which goes for a tidy amount on eBay.

The switch port isn’t good though. The developers didn’t have the original code to work with so it’s kinda messy and buggy.

Can anyone recommend a 3rd party dock so you can play it through another tv ?

Just plug and play ?

Whatever you do, do not get the Nyko version.

Nyko’s dock has had people say it’s broke there switch. After using their dock the switch no longer charges when connected to the AC plug.

Just looking back at my initial response to the switch. One thing I was worried about was it being underpowered due to the portability and then the later reveals surrounding paid online and the battery life. I've really been pleasantly surprised. I've used it plugged in to the tv mostly but the portability works well and I don't think I'm even gonna go for the online aspect anyway as I just prefer the SP offerings by Nintendo.

Where the Switch has got slightly fortunate (and I don't mean it in the perjorative) is that its existence has coincided with the advent of high ampage powerbanks. This has basically negated any of the battery concerns as the modern power banks have the capacity to charge the Switch as you play it.

I think it's been absolutely sensational so far. I'm so pleased I bought it and I've played more on my Switch than I have on any other console since it was delivered.

I'm incredibly pleased that it's become a really strong proponent of Indie Games, which I always felt would flourish on the platform.

I've not played any of the indie games yet. Not sure how to check my play stats for Zelda but I've been on that every day for the last few weeks.

Online service goes to it's paid model in September, enough time for them to come up with something big. VC or a couple of big hitters alongside it.

Conversion leads to the assumption of £20 a year.

Rumours floating around that it'll be something like £2.50 per month for the subscription.

How much should I be looking to get if I sell my Switch with Zelda? Only got it in December so near perfect condition. Was looking at CEX but the going rate is £194 which seems pretty low.

Don’t want to get rid of it, but kind of have to.

I'd offer to buy it off you if it wouldn't get me in severe trouble with the other half...

Still waiting to get mine. Consoling myself (no pun intended) by finishing all the Wii U games I can.

Hopefully by Christmas I will be permitted to splash out.

Have a look on ebay at sold listings. I bet it would go in 6 hours or less if you listed both together for £275

Same applies to Gumtree which is an online listing and a face-to-face transaction.

Going for between £250 - £300 on ebay at the moment:

Yep just press but don't release the use button. As soon as you get in front get a shell or banana held behind you and then the first attack will be deflected (doesn't work on blue shells tho)

Just sent my Switch back for repairs, feel I should run a sweepstake on repair cost seeing as it was 3 days out of warranty.

Playing a lovely little game called Night In The Woods. Recommend it. There’s a mini game within it that I spent a fair chunk of yesterday playing, more addictive than some full titles I’ve bought!

Real shame that Dark Souls has been delayed until summer. Had been looking forward to that. That said..

I have Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Street Fighter, Tetris, Football Manager, Fifa, Shovel Knight and Mario Xcom/Rabbids downloaded on a handheld I can play anywhere. South Park on the way too. Phenomenal.

To anyone who didn't have a Wii U, I have a piece of advice:

Buy Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze when it comes out on May 4th. Might be the best 2D platformer of all time. Loads of replay-ability, extremely difficult, rewarding and gorgeous with one of the best soundtracks you will ever hear. Game deserves to sell well this time around.

If you haven't, you should really give Shovel Knight a go. Be it on the Switch or PC or any other console, it's such a well made and fun to play game. It's not even hitting a nostalgia nerve with me, I haven't been around for the NES era, it's just so enjoyable to play.

Looks like a stable custom firmware for the switch is getting very close. Lots of videos emerging online about people exploiting the joycon shorting hack to sideload emulators and homebrews.

Exciting times.

Basically you can enter a secret developer mode by placing metal on two of the connectors for the Joycon on the body of the Switch. This allows hackers and developers access to the bits of the Switch software that you shouldn't be able to get to.

The consequence of that is the ability to put an OS on the Switch that would allow you to load in copied games, retro emulators etc etc.

Its a bad thing as it will see Piracy occur as well as online cheating.  Spaltoon2 has already had instances of people cheating online via hacks.

Nintendo need to nuke any account that has gone online via a hacked switch.
