My dad was telling me last night that he was in his van and got pulled over this week by the police for an unsecured load. He's getting on a bit and I think they took pity because they got a rope and helped him tie the doors together properly. However one of them noticed his front number plate was on the dashboard and they asked how long it had been like that. He lied and said it had fallen off that morning, they could see by the dirt on the front of the van that wasn't true so ended up fining him for that, my mum thinks he could have gotten away with it if he'd have told the truth and they didn't like the obvious lie.
Thing is though, if you hang around with criminals, you're going to get lied to.
