Who (or what?) was the Kwisatz Haderach ?

Read the book, seen the film, I’ve no idea still.
“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
“Generosity always pays off. Generosity in your effort, in your work, in your kindness, in the way you look after people and take care of people. In the long run, if you are generous with a heart, and with humanity, it always pays off.”

Spoiler
It’s basically the end product of hundreds, if not thousands, of years of covert breeding program operated by Bene Gesserit. They see themselves as custodians of human race and they want to create (and control) a superior form of human who can see into the future and guide mankind to safety and prosperity. Paul is the one they wanted, but he isn’t what they thought he would be. They do not control him and more importantly he only sets the pieces up for a better future, it is his son that actually executes the plan - something Paul didn’t have the strength for. Kvizatch Haderach is basically the sharp tip of humanity penetrating into a viable future. Trick is that to do this you need absolute control and power, you need to be a monster. Paul couldn’t.

Thanks for the book spoilers.
I wouldn’t worry …. It’s not that much of a spoiler really. I’ve never understood it.  I’ve been thinking he was relayed to Kwasi Kwarteng

It's hard to say what's a spoiler at this point. I'd imagine they'll stop making movies before they get to the weird sex stuff i.e. the entire last 2 books in the series.

They could honestly not make anymore movies, it was left at a perfectly interpretable point if you were paying attention across both parts. Everything that happens after is foreshadowed.

Made up I watched it in the cinema, the time flew by, great stuff, the surround sound was truly epic, it was a great spectacle.
I need to read up on a few things - not having read the book - but in all, very good, great acting, soundtrack, everything was ace

Blimey, what an epic!

Don't really know what else to say. Such an unbelievable cinematic experience. Denis absolutely smashed it out the park.

650-700 seems to be the consensus, that's very good all the same.

Expect the final installment to hit closer but we're looking at maybe 4+ years.

First experience with Imax last night to watch this.  Both me and my son were blown away.  Truly epic.

The only gripe i had throughout the film was when Paul was becoming a 'Fremen' - felt a bit rushed - one second it was spend a week in the desert then it jumped to the next thing he had to do and the next thing.

Yeah, I enjoyed it and it's a great spectacle but the fact that you need to "read up on a few things" highlights its flaws - it tells the story very badly, and there are some significant omissions, eg the Navigators, who are essential to understanding why spice is such a valuable commodity.

The only gripe i had throughout the film was when Paul was becoming a 'Fremen' - felt a bit rushed - one second it was spend a week in the desert then it jumped to the next thing he had to do and the next thing.

Agreed. The pacing is very uneven - feels very rushed in places and really drags in others.

Also, I have one very significant question that is left unresolved in the films:

How do you get down off a sandworm?

Spoiler
You don't - you get down off a duck  ;)

Agree with the last couple of posts.

Storytelling was a bit jumpy and definitely felt smoother in Part One for me.

I think a directors cut of Part Two would make it even better but from what I've heard that doesn't sound like Villeneuve's style.

Is this on digital release yet? I really want to watch it but no one I know shares that feeling and I don't really fancy going to the cinema on my own.

It's actually the perfect time to go on your own.
Kind of end of it's cinema run, you can find great seats, not a lot of humans to ruin your experience and can properly enjoy the movie.

No digital release yet.

Cinema trips on your own are underrated, you're just going to sit quietly in the dark for two hours anyway. You can even bash one out if it's empty enough.
