I worry about our midfield in the biggest games without Thiago let alone Fab too, hopefully it's nothing. Would be a massive blow.

If Fab is missing then our ability to stop them counter attacking is massively diminished. Really hope he's fit for this.

Always feels like we're missing key players when we go to that shithole stadium of theirs.

There are no rumours on this as far as I can see

Didn’t Alisson do this one day last season when he was still injured?

Yes he did as a Team run it

Be surprised if he’s out considering the lack of rumours

De Gea is still shipping goals though John, even if he is capable of brilliant saves. And we look like we’ll create good chances every time we play. So I’m confident we can score a couple so just need to avoid it turning into a crazy end to end type of game that sees us dragged down to their level.

de gea has been their best player at the end of last season and so far this season, he has his flaws for sure but he's in good form and i doubt he'll be the reason if they lose, he's more likely to be a reason they dont lose (other players have won them games but only cos he's kept them in it)

an area of weakness he does have is he's poor at playnig the ball out from the back, as are utd in general, if we get our press right it's one of the routes to success, tho i'd expect them to set up to play counterattack, it's their most likely way of winning, so long balls over the top

if they fall behind then they may just resort to 'fuck this' and go all out, pretty much what they did against an atalanta side missing 5 starters

Losing your only chance of silverware this season to your city rival. At home. With the most expensive squad ever assembled.

Have that, you arrogant wanker. CarraG238

Trent,Joel, Robbo and Virg against Ronnie, he either wont start or see 60 minutes or he will get sent off. I reckon the latter to make a point. They dont want to win this, there in Hodgson vs blackburn country. Ole gets sacked, Ronnie player manager.

Edit - Forgot to say they are fucking shite. Maguire agaist Mo is going to be comical, 5-2.

+ skysports.com, Jamie Carragher: "I can see under-pressure Man Utd beating Liverpool on Super Sunday"
- 23 October 2021 12:58, UK

The momentum of their Champions League comeback could fuel Man Utd to victory against unbeaten Liverpool at Old Trafford on Super Sunday, says Jamie Carragher.

On a run of five defeats from their previous seven games, an electric atmosphere helped complete a stunning second-half turnaround and relieve some pressure on under-fire boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, something Jamie Carragher told the Essential Football Podcast could play its part in Sunday's game, live on Sky Sports Premier League.

"I could see Man United winning this game," he said. "I think certainly on the back of what happened on Wednesday night, the atmosphere will be fantastic, especially at the start of the game".

"Man United at home against Liverpool notoriously, going back 10 or 15 years, they've had Liverpool's number in the fixture. Liverpool have found it really difficult to win at Old Trafford and going back a long time, even the great Liverpool teams, it's always been a venue Liverpool have struggled at", said Carragher.

+ Answering Rio Ferdinand, Michael Owen rates Luis Suarez over Mohamed Salah, dismissing current Liverpool ace
- BT Sport, Hosted by Jake Humphrey

Owen sparked an enticing and heated debate when he backed Suarez over Salah, despite the fact the latter broke the Premier League record for most goals in a 38-game season with 32.

"The answer in my opinion, the season that Luis Suarez played under Brendan Rodgers (in 2013/14), I've never seen anything like it in my life," Michael Owen said.

But Ferdinand was having none of it, underlining that Salah's efforts to lead the team with his goals and playmaking efforts demonstrates his importance.

Club legend Michael Owen has surprisingly claimed he would rather have Luis Suarez in his prime over the Egyptian.

Rio Ferdinand: "It's who plays really well, who scores the goals, who shoots their team to winning the league."

The debate raged on as Owen continued to fight the 35-year-old's corner, adding: "But he (Suarez) was doing that as well, they were one slip away from winning the league that season. He was at the sharp end of the game."

The reason they are saying those things is to deliberately enrage and therefore engage. Engagement in broadcasting  = cash. That’s a well worn media strategy particularly from Sky. Please rise above it. You are reading hardball business not genuine beliefs.

Fixed it.

Let's focus on today's game - involving the best keeper, CB, full backs, defensive midfielder and striker in world football, against a bunch of overpaid, overated wannabes with no tactics, who are living in the past and managed by a brainless goblin.

What Carragher is saying there, I was thinking about that… what about the risk that it will make them over-confident? They were basically shit for much of the game and a bit fortunate that Atalanta went to pieces in the second half.

It’s a bit like when they hammered Leeds (a similar side to Atalanta in many ways) on the opening day of the season and were talking about being serious title contenders. But the following week they struggled to scrape a draw against Southampton, who are now looking like relegation fodder.

I really don’t think we need to be worried about the fact that they won on Wednesday.

They beat an Atalanta side with 5 players out 3-2 at home, it’s hardly a 4-0 comeback against Barcelona is it? The thing which makes me laugh about this is that they still have the away fixture and if I was a United fan I’d hardly be confident especially as you’d assume Atalanta will have 1 or 2 players back for it. Lose that, which I don’t think would particularly surprise anyone, and they’ve got a tricky last 2 games to qualify.

The fucking eulogising over that result is astounding, United may win today, of course they may, but if they do it will have fuck all to do with them scraping 3 points from a losing position in a game that they should be pissing anyway, you only need to look to their form after the Villarreal game to see that. God, I can already hear pinky and the brain on the sky commentary referencing it every 5 minutes.

We've played more games without Thiago then with, and won.

Sure, I don't recall saying it was impossible to win without him, just that it's a blow he's missing, he played a part in most of the big aways last season and was excellent or better in all of them, he ran rings round these at OT, it's a blow especially so if Fabinho joins him.

There are no rumours about Fab and nothing in presser. He only came back from Spain Thursday so may have been doing individual work.

Without him and Thiago then we may have to play the front 4 and play two midfielders depending on fitness.

We're miles better than them, are infinitely better coached, but they're a bunch of spawny twats who'll get an amazing number of hilariously wrong decisions from Anthony Taylor and other members of Mike Riley's mob. I'm really looking forward to this. The chance to absolutely crush them at their place. Our attack is imperious, their defence shite. Our midfield a powerhouse, theirs non-existent. Our defence like a rock against their overhyped attack. I'll be in the pub, surrounded by mancs, singing our praises and laying into them with both boots.

I've been lumping on all week, at various odds, laughing at the stupidity of the bookies offering better than evens. There's no way this can be anything other than a resounding away win.

So, they will probably spawn the flukiest draw in the history of football. Twats.

I keep reminding myself that we beat Atelti at the Wanda, which is a much tougher away ground than Old Trafford. It feels like if we can do that, we can do anything. But this is Man U and form is cast to wind in that place with our mutual history. This fixture always makes me nervous.

Hope Pogba plays. Our right hand side will have a field day.

Despite it being behind closed doors, the win last season helped City not get fazed by Anfield this season. Our win at Old Trafford last season should have the same result for us.
