16:50 Cheltenham

Blow By Blow 11/1................15 + 5 = 20
Discorama 33/1..................10 + 10 = 20
Early Doors 9/1............................7
Sire Du Berlais 10/1.......................4

Robbieredman picks up four points to close the gap to three.

The top four have all picked different horses for the final race, but gregor is now out of the running, as his pick is the same as Fazak_Red's.

Since you've covered the scroing Bo i've got worse - staring down the barrel of last here with zero today - not sure my golf picks any better this week!!

Haven't done much better myself today, but I think it's one of those days. Even liversaint only picked up ten points so far, and no one has managed to catch him yet.

Just to confirm where we stand before the final race (and the remaining picks):

liversaint 251, Bouvreuil
Robbieredman 248, Le Prezen
Roady 243, Theinval
Fazak_Red 242, Dresden
gregor 233, Dresden (can't win anymore)
beefdog 222, Gino Trail (can still win)

17:30 Cheltenham

Le Prezien 15/2......................15
Gino Trail 25/1.............10 + 5 = 15
Top Gamble 8/1........................7
Theinval 16/1.................4 + 5 = 9

Looks like Le Prezien won it for Robbieredman, but it's probably best to wait for Pete to confirm it. :)

yep, had a shocker today, here and at the bookies. Bouvrevil being brought down in the last sums my day up.

Well done Robbie, thanks to Pete, great stuff and enjoyable as usual.

Gah gutted. Predicted that it'd be a day of big price winners but just got the wrong ones in the end. So close yet so far. Should be a creditable mid table debut for me. Can't complain.  Nice one for running it lads.

Cheers to those of you who took the time to post yesterday and cheers to BoRed for providing crucial final updates.  Next year anyone not planning to post for all 4 days needn't bother at all.

I'll take Bo's word for it and congratulate RobbieRedman on his victory :)

I'll work the scores out properly and post final standings before i head off to the game later.

4 of us didn't have one winner on course yesterday and it was a betting disaster. Still got pissed and had a good time of course but the after party in the racecourse was somewhat subdued and a bit disappointing as not many there had won money.

Ah well, final update later lads when i feel almost human :)

Here are the official Day 4 scores.  On a ridiculously difficult day our clear winner yesterday was Gregor with 80 points who Napped the 33/1 winner in the 14:50 and also had a second in the opening race. Well played Gregor and hoped you backed it :)

Quite a few people scored Zero due a bad day at the office and also a couple of fresh no-shows.

Cheers for running Pete.

I backed pretty much everything I posted on here. Decent enough day 1, not a great day 2, good day 3 and woeful day 4. Would be happy with mid table as I know next to fuck all about horses and only £25 down in financial terms so happy with that.

***CONGRATULATIONS TO - RobbieRedMan - RAWK Cheltenham 2018 Champion Tipster***   :champ

A good showing from Robbie on a tough final day ensured he became the 11th Champion RAWK Cheltenham tipster.  With a winner, a 3rd and a 4th already under his belt on Friday he still needed to peg back Liversaints 3 point lead going into the last race.  Le Prezian obliged for Robbie and he won it by 11 points in the end.

Big shouts to Liversaint and Roady who had 4 good days tipping and could have easily won it on Friday. Them's the breaks.

From the original 69, We had 66 players who finished the comp and entered picks for 3 out of 4 days racing. Good effort lads and thanks for taking the time to post even when you were having a bad festival.

The 2018 Tipping Fail Trophy goes to aptly named 'Beneath' :)  He posted all 4 days and still managed to finish below posters who missed a day.  The Tipster fail trophy will be presented next March to bump this thread and prepare us for the 2019 Edition.

Final Standings:-

Thanks guys and thanks Pete, top man.

Hard luck to Roady, liversaint, fazak  and others.

Luck played the biggest part, mud played an important part too and I was fortunate enough to catch Barry Geraghty on RUK friday morning and he gave a subtle nod towards Le Prezien in the last which made the difference in the end.

Real nice to have my name on the trophy, as lucky as I was I'm looking forward to Aintree and am hungry for the double! :)

Congrats to Robbie, I discounted Le Prezien when doing my selections as i thought Bouvrevil was better at the weights. Summed my day up as it was brought down.

Congratulations Robbie, really well played - I hope to see you in the Aintree Tipster Competition where I'll need to be on top form to have any chance defend my crown there!

Thanks again to Pete for running this (and Bo for assisting), it gets me involved in every single race of each day of the 'Greatest Show on Turf'.

Coming 7th out of 69 is pretty alright too! Although when my NAP at 20/1 SP, Fabulous Saga, was leading at the final hurdle in the Albert Bartlett I thought it could have been so much better!

Finally, a thank you to beefdog - I had a Lucky15(EW) on some of his final day selections at big prices which all placed for me and made a nice return!
