This is very true Im afriad. That said, no matter what the result in any possible final, Liverpool will always have an infinate amount more respect from your average footie fan than the fucking Mancs!
That sounds flattering to the ears, but do you think this really is true?

Yes i think so. To those that really care and know about the game anyway. So this obviously excludes your average Southern Manc fan or Chelsea prawn sandwich brigade for example!

cant remember the last italian side to knock them out, would have been juve im guessing.
mr sort of worried/cautious me on this draw.

It was Milan in 2005.

I don't see why everyone's so bothered about United and Chelsea, anyway. In my opinion, we've got the best draw for the quarter finals, and I think most people would agree. I'm sure there are United and Chelsea fans out there that will be branding us lucky for weeks because of the draw, but let them. United face a tough test against Roma, and Chelsea face possibly an even tougher test against Valencia. Let's not forget that these two sides knocked out Lyon and Inter.

United have definitely been lucky this season (especially recently), but when you start calling them lucky for every single thing (whether they are or not) then it just looks bitter and a bit obsessive.

I'm more worried about ourselves and our own draw, rather than other teams. I'm delighted that we've got PSV (not over-confident, but very much looking forward to it, and I believe we can win the tie), and IF we do get to the semis then we'll have a tough game whether it's Valencia or Chelsea. Same goes for the final. But I can't wait. It's very clichéd but 'there are no bad teams in the quarters'. If we happen to meet United in the final then fair enough. Personally I hope they and Chelsea are both knocked out immediately but whatever happens, happens. As long as we go through then I'm happy.

It's interesting that - whilst it's unlikely - we COULD face Chelsea in the semis and Milan in the final. Now that would be very interesting.

last 4 liverpool valencia manu, an a stab in the dark bayern.

i think the mancs have the best draw, ok psv are probably the weakest side left but if we beat the dutch we are going to face a deffo strong side in the semi,  if terrys out less so if chelsea get through.
who said italian sides had done well v the mancs??

the last time they won it they beat 2 italian sides in the quarters an semi ffs, an could happen again.

That would of been me. And yes you are correct in Man U knocking out 2 Italian teams to read the final. They won't do it again!

I'm all for predictions but can we calm down just a tad? It's all very exciting but the quarter finals are next, not the semis, and not the final.

No I am going into overdrive thinking about a Liverpool/United final!

the only reason we are worried about getting the mancs in the final is because we know how bloody fortunate they can be!!!!!

Made up with that draw, gives us a great chance of making Athens.

If we do get to Athens I hope we don't get the scum as I couldn't cope with losing against them.

Well, I must say 'hats off' UEFA, cos I was sure that there would be a fix of some sort to ensure there would be no possibility of us against the Mancs in Athens.

Second, the draw has been excellent...  very closely matched up games with no stand-out favourites.  surely the most open European Cup in years?

Anyone can win the QF's, and equally the SF's will be nailbiters too.

For my money, the most clear favourites in the 4 games are Bayern.  Personally (and I wait to be shot down) I consider the weakest team of the 8 left.. at this minute.. are Milan.  On the other hand, Bayern are a danger.  I consider that if Kaka is stopped, Milan are toothless, simple as that.  And Bayern certainly have the players and the method to do that.  Can only see one outcome in this fixture,  and thinking of the semi-final, that should do very nicely if we progress.

Chelsea to win v Valencia...  in a nail-biter.  I think Chelsea will go through after a decent first leg in London.  But there will be sweating in the Mestalla as their lead gets pulled back.  However, I do feel that Chelsea are starting to hit form again, and if there are also a few Valencia players suspended, this will tip the balance in favour of the rent-boys.

I also think United will, very, very narrowly beat Roma.  Possibly after ET or penalties.  I fancy them to score in Rome, but equally, I can see Roma score in Mancland.  The key to this one will be the Manc injury list/fixture logjam etc.  If Middlesborough can force a Cup replay on Saturday, and if Saha etc stay out,  start to swing the balance Roma's way.  All things being equal though, I feel a full strength United will have a little bit more than Roma.

Bringing me to.... the big one.

Now, if anyone thinks this is a foregone conclusion... get a reality check please.  As one of the few who forecast a difficult encounter last year v Benfica (amongst a lot of daft euphoria),  please pay heed.  These are probably one of the 3 hardest sides to beat over 2, where I include Bayern and Chelsea.   One of the sides who would be delighted with a 0-0 at home.  Think about that...   I mean European sides;  we will find them very hard to break down.  They will be confident in posession, feel they can strangle us in Eindhoven, and get a goal at Anfield.  Exactly the type of side we don't do well against, in my opinion.  However, I do feel that we can beat them;  but I would have been delighted if Man Utd had drawn this lot to be honest.  It will be very close, and I forecast much anxiety before the end.  If we can grab a goal away...  game over.  But if we come to Anfield with 0,  it could be a really tough night.  Bring it on!

As for the semis and beyond....   all I will say is that I would love to see Bayern v Mancs.  Only one winner there for me.  So the way is on for a LFC/Bayern final.    And if that happens, Bayern are without doubt the one side I'd prefer in a one-off match rather than over 2 legs of the current last 8.

Is correct.

They just keep getting the luck. Wembley '77 two flukes, '96 last minute, don't get me started on the '99 CL final.

Last Sat was just typical. Roma can beat them but a lot will depend on which strikers are fit in early April.
We are definitely believers and we’ve won the fucking lot!

It's going to be tricky for AC now. If it was 1-1 I could see AC getting the result but 2-2 is a tough ask. I think the 2nd leg will be a tense 1-1 with Bayern going to the semi.

I can see it being a goalless draw, simply because I will be there.

:)

I hope it's a classic but like you, I have my doubts. Tense though, very tense the second leg will be.

I still think they can go there and win. You're right though it could be a very tense game.

Cant really see it myself, unless Uefa overturn Gilardinos ridiculous yellow card that means he misses the return leg.Masssive blow to Milan with now only Inzaghi as a threat to Bayern.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.
