He could play either. He's one of the most versatile attackers you could have picked. You can happily stick him at no. 9, 10 or 7.

Might just be me, but I think of no. 10s as AMs and no.7s as FWs. So the 7s can be wingers or they can play through the middle, but they don't really drop deep in the way that most no. 10s (e.g. Zidane) do.

Di Stefano looks more like a 5 to me. Strong facial features and a nice frame but premature baldness drags him down a bit.

The main reason I'd liked Salah if not given the opportunity to have a global historical football icon is because the amount of left-footed inside forwards capable of scoring 30 goals per year in all comps isn't that great throughout football history. Obviously back in the day I think there are definitely some guys could've done similar from the right cutting in and smashing ridiculous numbers of goals but it's hard to prove a negative.
