Schalke will finally be flushed this season, won't they?

Might be the worst team in a European top 5 league.  Pretty amazing implosion.

One of the easier red card decisions you'll see these days.  Makes for a shitty rest of the game though.

Attack against defence. Hertha will have their work cut out creating chances against these. They're nothing if not dogged.

FC Union play shit on a stick footy at the best of times, so with 10 men and a goal lead, you can imagine how that goes  ;D

But, good for them, they don’t need to entertain anyone at this point. It’s up to Hertha. They have the talent, they have spent the millions, they need to start winning, or they will be after yet another new coach.

They needed that.

Pekarik taking advantage of an almighty rebound from the goalie.

Game is there to be won now for Hertha.

Hertha now ahead, Piątek with the goal.

Andreas Luthe not having a good game in goal for Union tonight.  Partly at fault for both goals.

I think that’s game over! Piątek again. 3-1.

2 seasons running a bit of a 2nd half collapse for Union away to Hertha. But with 10 men from so early tonight, it was always going to be tough.

finally back able to watch Bundesliga games this week, after getting a new ROKU box  ;D

Bielefeld leading against Mainz from a deflected goal, so yeah, picked a good time to start watching again  :P

Frankfurt 1 nil up vs Dortmund, and Effzeh ahead vs Wolfsburg so far.

Apparently only this Bielefeld - Mainz game has been working on ESPN+ this morning.  People kicking off on Twitter about not being able to watch Gio Reyna and Dortmund  ::)

Funny so many of us though that ESPN would be better than Fox......

Anyway, Mainz are losing 2-0 and it isn’t looking good. Their 3 game without a loss streak is going to end.

Insane amount of talent England are producing at the moment. Him, Bellingham and Elliott (obviously in a lower quality League) all getting good minutes and impressing at 17 is crazy.

And they hung on for the point.  Good result for Leipzig, especially after that crazy mid week CL game they had.

And now they have to get ready for another massive CL game midweek.

Didn't realise Leipzig had such a big game today, that will have taken a bit out of them.  Hope they're up for it midweek.

helps them a little that they could use 5 subs, so at least the likes of Forsberg, Sabitzer and Mukiele got a bit of a break.

Stuttgart have had a very solid start to the season, which sort of surprised me! A 2-1 win today at Bremen, with one of the best named players in the league, Silas Wamangituka, scoring both.

Schalke losing to Leverkusen so far, which will surprise no one.

yeah, they are such a mess and another blow to their confidence yesterday was a saved penalty when they where still (sort of) in the game.

Leverkusen though are looking good. I am quite enjoying the redemption of Peter Bosz after his short lived BVB stint!

Wamangituka got himself a yellow card for scoring the winning goal for "disrespecting the opponents" - absolute loads of codswallop the fact he got a booking there

I mean it was a twattish way to take the goal, but yeah, no need to book him really.

Ref probably felt it was unsportsmanlike behaviour as defined by "shows a lack of respect for the game".

He didn't. He was asked about it after the game and has said that the yellow was because of the altercation between Wamangituka and Selke after the goal. The ref also said that he wouldn't have given the goal, if he had felt that there was unsportsmanlike behaviour by the player. However, he said that the way Wamangituka scored was not enough to make such a decision and that it might have been different had he done something like get on his knees and then push the ball over the line with his head.

Whole reaction reminded me more of ice hockey, where there is a real sense of intolerance for players taking the piss. And I don’t blame Selke at all for calling him out on it during the game, good for him I reckon!
