Commentators saying its a 300+ pitch, sorry I just don't see it, as I don't think batting looks that straight forward today. This 300 par for any ODI nowadays just seems to be hyperbole.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
