How closely are the draft police going to make sure we adhere to the ethos of our manager? Especially when managers’ tactics can evolve over time. If I pick Tony Pulis for example, do I need to pick a long throw merchant and a couple of big men up top?

Yes, if Tony Pulis (Stoke City late 00's/early 2010's?) is your inspiration, best pick players who'd fit best within that blue print.

Oh, didn't get a PM this morning. In any case, I'm super busy this week and I haven't looked into any managers yet. Feels like a draft that needs some proper research and can't just be slapdashed.

So just skip me. Perhaps I'll work out who to pick by the end of the round, but if not I'll have to bow out I'm afraid.

By the way, Phil and JordanT come as a pair, so if Phil isn't about then neither will Jordan be.

I'll be honest I have no clue if thats a good pick or not.

So from now...I pick players who would have been good under Cruyff, but never played for him?
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Excellent pick - yes, perhaps his Barca 'dream team' is his masterpiece. You'll need to find players (who never played for him) but who would be ideal for Cruyff's visionary 3-4-3/4-3-3.

Good or not. It's definitely a fun pick.

Fully expected you to pick Tony Pullis though.

Paisley and Klopp could be quite hard to work with. Klopp needing very specific hard grafting players almost across the whole team, and Bob needing to stick to a rigid 442 while replacing that Scottish fire that ran through the team without having access to the best of them.

Surely you don’t need to have nationalities like that though. If you can find a ball playing centre half in the Hansen mould from elsewhere that’s surely fine?

Nah, I just meant that the Scots core running through that Liverpool side had a certain attitude and playing style that might be hard to conjure up. There are players out there from other nations who do though, of course.

Hitzfeld, no real idea why! But looking at his Dortmund and Bayern CL winning teams I need three at the back with a sweeper, some defensively sound wing backs, two holders and an attacking mid and two strikers. Sound about right?
