Jon Snow
Littlefinger
Danaerys
Brienne

Those are 5 utterly dreadful actors IMO.


Some of them have been good. eg Dinklage has always been a great actor, and Lena Headey is nearly always good (excellent in 300 and Dredd). Richard Madden has gone on to do some good things as well. I also thought Jamie Lannister (like Cersei) was portrayed perfectly in the show but the actor was let down by the fucking dreadful writing in the final season. But thats enough of a GoT derail - I know where this can go.

Emilia Clarke did a perfectly good job, the show got worse when it ran out of material.

Up to the point where the Sandman meets Lucifer is excellent, the set design, the special effects, Squatterbloat and the drawn out walk. They get to the castle, doors open, blood floods out and then it jarringly cuts to him walking around the corner to Lucifier's throne room and it all just goes flat. I like the series but this is where the issues lie for me, the disparity in menace from one scene to the next.

Lucifer had a hair do not dissimilar to Mrs Bouquet’s terrified next door neighbour.

Therefore I could not take her seriously.

i dont know what this 'hot water' shit is, but i've always hated him on screen, i have no logical reason for it, it's just my reaction to him from the off. same for Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor (with him i think i know the reason, i saw him first in Trainspotting and loathed that movie and everyone in it, that said, i've no problem watching Robert Carlyle)

movies/Tv with any of those in i would generally avoid if possible

some are 'unavoidable' in that i want to see the movie whatever, eg Star Wars stuff and with Kenobi i actually got to the point where i saw just the character not the actor, so worked out ok on that level

with Farrell and Batman, he did a good job and as i couldn't recognise him (apart from one scene, even hadn't i known i'd thought, hang on is that Farrell) that seemed to make it not an issue

which makes it look like it's a visual thing, but it's not, yeah i dont know why, just is

just seen there's an adaptation of Interview with the Vampire (my favourite modern book series) coming soon, going by the two trailers, not going in with high expectations

alongside the trinity of characters you expect to see the only other credit (so presumably prominent) I see is an actor credit for some character named Rashid- he's not in the books, yet there are tons of great characters in the books, that's almost always a red flag

It's a term originally meaning 'alert to injustice in society, especially racism' that has been co-opted by thick right wing bell ends as a replacement for 'political correctness gone mad' as a way to undermine people being understanding, tolerant and standing up for marginalised people

Usually used when discussing things that in no way affect them directly like having a person of colour play a character in a movie that was originally white and male

I think this is very important, and something that is increasingly getting lost in all this shite. I just despise the politicking and the black and white views emerging from it all. It's also a personal peeve of mine regarding these new pseudo-political terms that get fired around and directed at people with certain views. Like "woke" for example. Those terms can fuck right off. As you rightly say, if you can't object or have a conversation about these things, then what is that? Fascism? Agenda? Whatever. I personally believe there are agenda's being thrown about, and people are sleepwalking right into them without even being aware of it. Brave is the person to openly object or give their opinion on it, though. One of the biggest reasons I don't go near Twitter was because I used a word in a sentence that actually has multiple definitions or uses, but I was set upon by a pack of fucking idiots who tried to dress my comment with their own political agenda. Fuck that noise. No time for that nonsense at all.
