Author Topic: Liverpool 0-1 Fulham: (Skrtel og) Half time........ (Read 56151 times)

Right. We'll be playing again on Tuesday against Fulham at Anfield. We've got a pretty tight schedule as we've also got the FA Cup Final on Saturday so that's three games in the space of a week. No doubt some key players should be rested before the big final, but who? I'm thinking Agger, Gerrard, Bellamy and perhaps the hattrick hero as well? Our previous meeting with Fulham ended in a 0-1 defeat at the Craven Cottage, Spearing got sent off while Henderson and Downing struck the woodwork. Three games left in the Premier League and it would be nice to end the season on a high.

I'd like the starting 11 for the FA cup to sit this one out (with the possible exclusion of Pepe). The league is trivial compared to the final. No need to risk injury or fatigue imo.

At 65 minutes either a double sub of Suarez & Gerrard for Carroll & Shelvey trying to pinch it or Spearing & Henderson resting them up if the game is over. I'd also put Sterling on for the last 10 but then I'd do that every match.

Agree in theory. In practice it's hard to do with Lucas & Adam injured.

Gutted I can't make this one due to work. Had to miss last nights match as well, don't think I've ever missed so much footy before!

Wouldn't mind seeing Robinson, Sterling & possibly given Suso an opportunity.

Maybe one or two changes, but no more. Skrtel will play in the Final and I think Carroll as well. Shelvey won't. The only selection problem then is where to use Carra. Can't imagine him outside the team in the Final.

Similar team that played against Blackburn with Kelly replacing Flanigan, we lost Garcia before our last FA Cup final for a handbag clash we don't want to chance losing a vital player here, and judging by Fulham's effort against Everton they shouldn't be to hard to beat.

While some players should be rested for the cup final I'd hope we don't make an entire first 11 change. We need consistency at this stage.

Leave out Suarez, Gerrard, Bellamy and Agger.

The rest can fight for places.

But a win wil pretty much cement 8th place...

Don't think we'll rest the entire Cup Final team but knowing how things have gone this season we will end up losing a couple of players. Or they'll have a Spackman and Gillespie style clash of heads.

A good win to keep us in a positive frame of mind will be nice though.

I don't know which team to play in the cup final, but I do know I want a completely different team to play this game. No start for key man Suarez or injury-prone players like Agger or Gerrard.

Need to start showing some consistency in our results and back to back wins would be a good starting point. Rest Suarez, Gerrard and Bellamy for the final and give Kuyt, Maxi and Carroll a run out.

True, it's just that it goes by so fast every time.
So many high hopes, dreams and it never, ever turns out even remotely like you expect it.

Think you're a bit optimistic on behalf of the youngsters there. Eccleston? I can see Sterling getting some minutes off the bench tho, something which would please the rawk crowd. Other than that, I agree with resting most of those guys, but I do think we'll see Skrtel paired with Coates.
