What do you mean by hijacked? That it joins a BT WiFi?

No, 02. I know, turn your wifi off when you go out. Try remembering that every time.

Like sminp said,I'm talking about hotspot,if you're signed up and have your wifi on then it will always connect.

iPhone 13 pro max with 1TB turned up on Thursday. Upgraded from an XR with minimum memory which I got for free from my old carrier. Switched to new carrier who gave $1,000 for the trade in and switch. It’s a big bigger and feels heavier. Basically feels at the moment like exactly the same phone. As I don’t make movies or play super fast games it’s all much of a muchness. Looking forward to seeing if the pictures are actually better and if I can do a little fun video one day. It’s nice to have a pile of memory though as I kept having to delete stuff on the last phone.

I've now tried the camera on the 13 and it is a massive jump up from the XR. It takes great pictures. Its also nice to do the portrait type shot on video.

Has anyone ever has an issue trying to send an email from your iPhone (12) using BT email / internet?

It's only started today, I can receive but can't send emails. I've been on the phone to BT for 45 mins and they can't resolve it. Tried loads of different things.

Have you tried a Reset network settings on iPhone? You’ll have to rejoin your WiFi afterwards but it’s resolved random connectivity issues I’ve had with iOS before.

Hello mate, no I haven't, I'll try that in the morning, how do I do it?

It worked, brilliant, hahahaha, I knew I should have asked here instead of wasting time with BT.

Nice one Graeme, lets hope its ok in the morning  :wave

Got a pair of OG AirPods from when they first came out and the left one keeps cutting out after about 20 mins or so even though it says it is fully charged etc. Is it time to get new ones? I've done all the disconnecting/resetting stuff to no success.

I get the exact same issue but it happens with the right one for me and mines are the original ones. Probably programmed by the Apple nerds to force us to buy new ones.

If I turn Do Not Disturb on would I still get notifications from the likes of my Ring app? Ideally of a night I’d like to turn off any phone/text notifications (save for maybe my parents) but still get a my Ring notifications if someone triggers the motion sensors outside.

I believe you can now with the updated Ios

You can make your own settings for your own 'Do Not Disturb' settings where you can allow notifications from some apps and not others. I havn't done it but believe thats the concept.

As I get my SIM included with work I am always quite happy to be a couple of years behind with my Iphone, so picked up a 64GB Gold XS Max over the weekend from a seller near me on FB Marketplace

Glorious 6.5" OLED screen and I am well impressed with it.  And the speed of it compared to my 7 Plus is a huge upgrade

£200 quid from a lady who had it in a wallet with screen protector from day 1.  Its absolutely immaculate with not a single scratch or scuff mark.  It really is "good as new".

Looking at other listings on eBay and FB, I can't help thinking she could have got at least another £50 for it.

Will use this XS Max for a year or two then go for a 12 Pro Max I think.

Unfortunately, unlike an android phone, there are very few ways to recover from an update gone wrong.

This should work though.

What is the error code?

Shop probably just put it in DFU mode to flash the original firmware onto it. Sorry only just seen this as I’d have given you the instructions on how to do it.

Samsung already does it. Its called eSim.
My office phone, that I have been using for little under a year, does not have a sim tray.

I know it's called eSim, I use eSim, it's the first time Apple are releasing a phone without it though (stateside) no doubt the rest of the world will follow.

Ah. I misread it.
I dont think it will be a universal standard for sometime. In EU, a physical sim is still the norm. I dont see the situation changing in the next 4-5 years minimum.
Beyond that, as technology advances and boomer lawmakers catchup, it might change then.

14 looks somewhat more of the same.

Not sure its a huge improvement unless you are an extreme adventurer and don't want to carry a sat phone anymore

The 14 Pro looks like a big step up, the standard 14 doesn't look too different from the 12, let alone the 13.  I'll be holding on to my 13 for another year.

I haven't long upgraded my Watch 3 to the 7, again the 8 is basically the same seeing as I don't ovulate, the Ultra looks a bit of a leap but it's really ugly and the price is uglier.

Think if you're using the 11 or XR and any watch 5 or under there's a lot to like, for the rest it's incremental and probably not worth bothering with.

Quite like the new lockscreen options on iOS 16, looks lovely, easy to set up and customise and handles notifications in a nicer way. On the other hand whoever designed stuff for WatchOS 9 should choke on their vomit as they ruined my favourite watch face Modular for no real reason.

Anyone upgrading their IPhone 12 Pro for the IPhone 14 pro.

Is it worth the change and how much are you being offered for your iPhone 12?

After a few days with the 14 pro I really like it.

More of the same really, the dynamic island is nice and once 16.1 comes out it will be useful for live scores.  But the way it works the animations e.t.c just feels good.

But the phone it self is more of the same, excellent build quality and a good phone.

My first 120hz screen and there is no going back now.

I’ve got a 12pro.  Tempted to upgrade? Well, trouble is, that it’s perfect. Literally running as new, still utterly quick, no slow down what so ever, and OS16 hasn’t slowed it one iota either ….

I bought my 12yo basic 9th gen iPad and it is a great and affordable tablet. You can’t go wrong with it. Fast, solid, supported and just good value. Kids need basics, not bells and whistles.

How much is he willing to spend?

For 350 euros you get a 2022 spec normal ipad itself. And that should be good to go for atleat 7 or 8 years.

Been on holiday to Egypt last week, now back home. Everytime I now go onto a website which is linked to my google account (e.g. tripadvisor) the google sign-in is now all in Arabic. I’ve tried clearing my safari cookies and data but it’s still not stopping it.

Anybody have any ideas?
