My 18 month deal expires in March so I'll be calling them soon as well. I don't tend to struggle these days with retentions, but we have...

Full TV Package, 2TB Box, Mini Box, HD/UHD £59
80MB Sky Superfast with Broadband Boost + Landline £27

They were offering about that during their Black Friday sales. Which is why engineers are completely booked out.

Anyone dealt with the retention team lately? We had a deal for 12months, its gone up again so i contact them to cancel today. They have been making offers but cant seem to grasp that i don't want to be paying more than what i am, especially as they have lost some of the footie to BT and Amazon. They told me that from tomorrow they will be offering BT sports within their sky packages, not sure at what cost yet etc.

Told them to go ahead with the cancelation, so will see what they come back with but has anyone done this recently and got any good deals? I am happy enough with Sky and what we were paying but its jumped up another £10. Wouldn't mind if they did a similar deal as last time and included Netflix.

My Sky deal and BT broadband is up this month so looking to phone them at the weekend to sort something out. Tried before Christmas but they mentioned the BT Sport being part of the Sky package in January so decided to hang fire. I read something about it being agreed at the end of 2017 so not sure why it’s taken so long, but hoping if I switch my broadband to them they’ll do a deal which ends up cheaper across everything. Only reason I have my broadband with BT is to keep the cost of BT Sport down.

I know it's daft but you have unplugged and taken the card out etc

I haven't tried the card bit, strangely enough BBC1 is back today. I just never know from day to the next whether it will be there or not.

Is this BT sport thing happening?

I think the contract is up soon cos the prices of things seemed to have jumped up on future bills so I'll have to give them a call. On a rolling contract with BT but don't want to cancel just yet so can see me ending up having to pay fucking twice in the changeover month and I guess you'll lose access on the app?

It’s supposed to have been happening for 2 years, so I wouldn’t hold your breath. I’m stuck with BT til next January as it turns out but probably worth calling Sky to find out.

It looks like you can now get BT Sport on a Sky Package but I’ve seen £22 bandied around as the price, so cheaper to get it from BT if you have broadband with them.

The most up to date info is from page 26/27 on the Sky Community Forum

I'm subscribed to BT and it's like £35 or £38 a month 😆 fucking jokers. I really need to sort it out cos it's saying our sky is gonna be like £100/mo and then it's whatever the fuck BT is on top.

People saying on there they're paying loads less than us for the same stuff. We have the full package, movies/sport, UHD etc, it was £76 but now it's seemingly more and I see above Graeme is getting the same thing for like £59.

On the verge of packing Sky in, been having signalling issues with the box for the last couple of weeks on and off. Now I can't get any Sky Sports channel just says no satellite signal. Rang them up they did the usual bullshit tests, then tell me they will have to book an engineer. Gives me an appt for the 26th January, so I went ballistic with them. They just take the absolute piss.  :no

Sky pricing just seems a bit random, sometimes they can be haggled with and sometimes not.

I have Sky Q with the extra box, Sports + Boxsets + UHD (no cinema or BT) but no broadband or phone  for just over £50 a month, not sure if that is a good price these days or not, they gave me an offer ages ago and it just seems to keep on running at that price rather than reverting to some normal price after the end of the offer.

Got BT sport on a separate offer for £21 a month last year but I will be stopping that when it reverts to full price in May.

Usually it's wired for Sky (insert gif of Cliff Richard on roller skates) but then it's up to the occupant to activate if they want it - i think that's how it used to work

finally phoned them yesterday, got full package + boxsets + UHD + extra box + LFCTV (yeah it's me who watches it) for £70. Think I did okay with my haggle.

I’ve exactly the same package , was paying £49 a month for my second 18 month contract , the first 18 months was just under £40 ( an offer that cam out when sky q first started . I rang about 6 months ago to look at renewing and the lad said to hold on until nearer the time and then negotiate. Forgot to call up and seen they’d taken £90 out as that was the price after the 18 month period elapsed . On the phone to them beginning of Jan and now pay £52 for 18 months

Was there much haggling involved, any particular tactics you used, like threatening to leave or did they just offer up the discount?
I’ve been told to wait until the actual day my current contract expires to get the best offers

Most of their staff are okay and if you're honest with them and have an idea (always check the website signed out to see the new customer offers) of current deals they'll  do what they can. It's all about the combination of offers, cancellations usually have the best access to offers, I used to phone up and ask them for a price so I could compare to Virgin and play them off each other.

Finally got my contract sorted today. Initially offered a £5 reduction (currently pay £67 a month but it was due to go up to £91 so would have been £86). Said that wasn’t good enough and got put through to cancellations. Managed to agree to £65 a month for next 18 months, £2 less than I have been paying so while not life changing it definitely pays to speak to cancellations. My package is Entertainment £14.50, Ultimate On Demand £12, Sports £21, Multiroom £13 and HD Channels £4.50

My £59 deal ends this month so just rang  up to cancel this afternoon.

Couldn’t get back down to £59 but settled at £65 after haggling them down with cancellation promises. That’s for...

Entertainment
Sports
Cinema
Box Sets
Kids
HD / UHD
Multiroom + 1 Mini Box

After agreeing all that he says there’s a £20 admin charge to which I told him point blank I would cancel before paying that and it was soon waived.

Sounds like you’ve done a better job than me, Same price but I haven’t got Cinema. Just out of interest how long have you been with them? We’ve been with them over 15 years so supposedly considered as Sky VIP Diamond customers. Think I might have to phone back and haggle some more!

I’ve been with them on and off for probably about 10 years? I’ve had two periods not being a customer in that time when I couldn’t really afford it. My current stretch as a customer is 3 years now.

I also have their top tier broadband, 3 mobile handsets in contract, 4 sim contracts plus an iPad, so they get their money’s worth out of me.

Ah I don’t have broadband or mobiles with them. Broadband with BT to keep BT Sport cost down, can’t get decent signal for O2 so mobiles not an option. Probably a fair enough price then considering what you’ve got with them

Yeah, think they're having you off on the price without the cinema, or just ask for it to be included cos we've got the same as Graeme + LFCTV for £70. They tried the admin charge with me as well but it's been applied as a credit so I don't know what the point of it is.

If they say well it depends on the current offers, well we've both got those offers in the last week on the phone so they are current offers. My phone is with them but we don't have broadband or anything. I forgot about asking them for BT to be honest.

Yeah same here, the £20 admin charge is there but with a £20 credit next to it. Wonder how many people foolishly pay that when re-contracting.

I wonder if the 'admin charge' is the salesperson's commission or at least a part of it.

Had the same £20 admin charge, also credited/removed, so not sure what the point is.

Phoned back up today and told them I knew people who had a better deal than me, and wasn’t happy given my length of time with them. After a bit of back and forth we got the Cinema added without any further increase.

2 mates from work share a house. A is leaving at the end of the month, and B is staying on in the house. Sky contract in the name of A and she is moving it to her new place.
Am I right in thinking B won't be able to order her own services until Sky stop the services that are currently being provided?

Been without TV signal for a week now. Booked an engineer visit only for them to cancel it and reschedule. By the time the engineer arrives I'll have been without TV for two weeks.

Sky prices being what they are, I'm not crazy about being charged for two weeks in which I haven't been able to use the service I'm paying for. What's my best angle here, should I just ring up and demand a refund for those two weeks? Say that I'll cancel if they don't do it?

My worry is that the satellite dish itself is intact, but very rusty. They might claim it's my fault, not theirs.  I can't see how it would go from working fine to completely unusable in the space of a few days, but I don't suppose they will care about that.

Could it have moved in the storms? If it does not point the right way, you won't get much of a signal...

So after haggling them down to £65 less than two weeks ago, my future TV bills are showing at £69, so rang up and apparently from April the prices are going up £4 a month. As I’m still in my cooling off period I threatened to cancel again and she squeezed every last offer available and got me back down to £66 so anyone else who’s recently re-contracted then double check your future bills.

Glad I read this. Had a look at my future bills on the app and noticed that in April my bill increases by £19 p/m and then in May it increases again by another £31. £50 increase on what I'm currently paying, less than 12 months after taking a new deal with them. Fuck that. I'll be phoning them in the next couple of days.

Phoned them this morning. Got put through to cancellations again and just said I was a bit annoyed that only weeks after agreeing a new price they’ve upped the prices. Chap took a look at what they could do and decided they could take £5 a month off Sky Sports. So now down to £64 a month
