This thread is to pump people up. To think positive. To throw some support behind the lads.

Is that so fucking hard to comprehend? There are plenty of other threads where "realism" is and can be discussed.

Yet, whenever someone starts a thread to try to be positive there are always those who want to post their negative ( realism to them) 2p worth as a counter.

Is it so hard to grasp that many of us fully appreciate the negatives. We know what they are. It's not as though we don't have enough posts droning on and on about how shite we've played and all the scapegoating going on.

It would be nice to share some enthusiasm without the need for idiots to come into a thread to drag people down.

Be glad i'm not a moderator for those who can't read the title of the thread....

It's time for us to get our act together and show our best. It's an important game and it won't be easy. We need to go out there and boss the game from the off. Show everyone that we're the ones that are ranked top in Europe.

Nobody can say, with any certainty exectly what will happen on the pitch against Liege on Wednesday.
Like so many of you I've been to too many games where the impossible has happened.
However one thing you can guarantee if you really want to....... and that's the level of our support.

Fuck off with the groans if a pass goes astray.
Fuck off with the long periods of embarrassing silence if we are not 5 goals up after 10 mins.
Fuck off listening to the Belgians singing their hearts out while we wait to be entertained before we sing.

You don't need any special skills or training.
You don't need anyones permission.
Just get the volume turned up from start to finish.
If you can't manage that, then.........fuck off!

I've got no complaints. If we played 2 bad games in a row and still won, it's got to be a good thing. However, if this trend continues, I'd start to worry. Hopefully, our heroics vs Boro will spurs us on and with the players coming back from Olympics, Rafa's staying on & the Keane-Torres partnership gelling, perhaps there's a good chance for refreshed optimism?

Barcelona, Arsenal, Juventes, Chelsea x 2, Olympiakos, Leverkeusen, PSV . . . . . the list goes on. We've beaten these teams who are far superior to Standard Liege over 2 legs(and we'd been playing shite in the league prior to some of these) and i for one can't see things changing on wednesday. We've lost two 2 legged ties in the CL in the last 4 years. Show a bit of faith in the team FFS!! Come on Redmen!!

I agree that it's not a massive game at the the latter stages, and the opposition is not of the calibre you'd expect at those stages, but it's still a pretty massive game.

If the fans sit there tonight and expect Liverpool to twat them 5-0 and start groaning when it's still 0-0 after 20 minutes, it could turn bad. We need the fans behind them tonight because the team need lifting - due to a few dodgy performances.

We never play well in the qualifiers, remember the home games against Graz, CSKA, and Maccabi? We get our early season jitters and play badly.

I'm confident we'll win because I think almost every team in our league is better than Liege, but it won't be easy due to players being out, players bedding in and a change in formation.

I don't think that's true. Belgian champs, and a tidy outfit at that. I wouldn't fancy the likes of Hull, Stoke, Wigan, Bolton, or even Sunderland against them necessarily.
