It's in the General Football and Sport Board. But you are right, I would far rather talk about squeaky accelerator pedals. Have you checked whether anyone has superglued a mouse under it?

We all have a player that we're fond of despite them not being that good, and he is mine. He's had an odd career really - very promising with Banik and a ridiculously good international game/goal ratio, then started well with us but turned out to be very inconsistent, and after that he kinda went nowhere. I haven't seen much of him in the last 5 years apart from that spell at Portsmouth and Euro 2012, where he looked hopeless. Still, I liked him. I don't know why, I just did.

His little pass to Gerrard in the final earned us the penalty, so I will always have a soft spot for him. And also because of his brilliant performance against Crystal Palace, which was one of the few matches I've attended. ;D

I loved Baros. Scored, and was involved in, some vital goals for us in the run to Istanbul.

Didnt he have a really good record at Gala, or am I dreaming that? I know he flopped at Pompey and Villa, but I genuinely think he wasn't arsed playing for anyone else in England.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

He was our only fit striker for a lot of that Autumn after Cisse broke his leg (until he did his hamstrings too!) and was important to us throughout that run. Good pace and movement but one of those head down dribblers who'd just as likely end up at the corner flag as in the box.

When he burst on the scene I thought he was going to be a star though. Was it 2 on his full debut at Bolton, then goals against Basle and West brom (I think). He looked a natural goalscorer.

First heard of Milan when he scored against Bolton in 2002.

Wish he stayed at the club a little longer, apart from that injury against Blackburn and his Euro 2004 exploits he hasn't quite been the same player in my eyes.
My favourite all time LFC player? Tough choice.

Before the 04/05 season, I thought we were going to have an unreal strikeforce in Cissé and Baros. Baros was topscorer at the european championship 2004, and Cissé was our record signing at that time. They were gonna tear the league apart! How wrong I was..

Always makes me smile when I think of Baros - not only for helping us win no. 5 - but for also making me £300 as top scorer in Euro 2004 for the Czechs (stupid odds by the bookies - think a few of us on here did well out of it at the time :))

If someone had put a corner flag behind the goal he'd been lethal - he was always successful in running the ball down a blind alley to the corner flag...

Hope he does well there.

I remember his charging goal v Basel in a 1-1 at Anfield in the Champions League and thinking he was going to be a world beater. How wrong I was, although I was only about 10 at the time.
I remember he was linked to Real Madrid in 2004 after he joint top scored at the Euros with four goals for the Czech Republic.

He's had a good career, will remember him fondly for that one CL campaign, in fact i'm sure many professional players would kill to have had a 12 months like head down Milan Baros did, top scoring in a European Championships and then ending it off with winning Big Ears in one of the greatest ever cup finals.

He's only 32.  No reason why he can't recover in time for next season and find a club if he wants to continue playing.
