I heard on Radio Merseyside tonight that big Ron is is leaving club as chief scout what a servant to the club thanks Ron.

Is right. Ol' Rowdy is getting on a bit I guess so maybe its more of a 'retirement.'

Saw him outside Anfield once and Shanks was right about him. He's a bloody big colossus!

As mentioned above he always used to retire on my Football Manager game too!

Sad to see a legend leave but wish him luck in whatever, and indeed wherever, else he enjoys in his life from now on.

Bet Carra is eyeing up that role already...!!

Aye, same here. Surprised to see him still around but he more than deserved his retirement after serving the club as a faithful and loyal servant for yonks.

Saw him recently and for his age he looks fucking well. True Legend. As others have said, first Reds captain to lift the FA Cup.

Be appropriate if we could win it again in Cardiff.

hate to be the one to commit the Ron Yeats Heresy but he should have been retired years ago, 69's too old to be a Chief Scout IMHO

lets face it the well hasn't been exactly overflowing with talent spotted from Scunny and Chester for a while has it

I believe Yeats was instrumental in bringing Hyypia in but apart from that it's difficult to see that he's got a particularly impressive track record

if anyone KNOWS different, chuck some names at me and I'll be happy to backtrack...

great servant to the club but I for one am pleased that there'll be some new blood on the case, and the sudden activity in the Eastern Midlands area, swooping for Hobbs, Anderson and Martin in a matter of months, suggests "Our man in Burton-le-Coggles" is putting some mileage in...
