Cancelled our flights ( Friday afternoon. Liverpool - Madrid) Found out that they had spare seats on the Friday Morning flight, but they refused to transfere us on to that flight, and then said they wouldn't refund our payments for flights. C*nts.

We're now trying to fight our corner as the flights were booked through opodo, and looking for alternative travel.

Got match tickets. Got two nights accommodation, but as of yet no flights.

Fucking livid.

How did you find out it had been cancelled?

Will Opodo help you or transfer your booking?

Just looking at booking an alternative outbound flight, now, Our return flight with Vueling, as far as I know, still stands.

As they're two separate flights, they are stand alone flights, not a charter, as such.

That doesn't mean the twats won't cancel that as well, but at this point, lets just get there, and worry about it later.

A day trip is no good to us. We have a grand (none refundable) of two nights accommodation in Madrid.

I’d double check if the return flight is, know with BA if you miss the outbound they cancel the inbound

The Vueling flights weren't booked as an out going with return, but two stand alone flights. Liv - Mad...… Mad-Liv So shouldn't matter.

We will check though.

If you booked with a travel agent (Opodo) then it's the travel agents responsbility to sort you out and re-book.

I don't know the full details yet, other than they've cancelled the flight. Opodo are saying get a refund from the airline. The airline are being twats.
Opodo, who the flights were booked through, trying to sidestep their responsibility.

Just looking now at alternative flight with a different airline...… that hopefully won't cost me a kidney, of other sellable body part.

Then she should be able to claim back on them. I know its no good to you at the moment mate but at least you should get your money back. If it helps there's flights out from Gatwick Friday afternoon/evening for between £150 to £200.

To be honest, I'm expecting to hear a whole raft of horror stories before this weekend is over.

Remember all of the cancelled flight last year, over non existing landing slots etc. Don't be surprised if there's a repeat.

I hope I'm wrong, and no one gets screwed over, but I expect a few people will be upset before the dust settles on this one again

Disgusting! Glad you can get there and hope your return one us ok.

I don't get why they'd cancel it, unless it's because it's not very full. Maybe if they'd put them on sale sooner?

We'd have gone with them if so but we'd booked by then. Our flights cost about the same but aren't direct. Just hope ours go ok....and that others don't have the same nightmare b4 Saturday.

Is anyone else having issues checking in online for the veuling flights? I keep getting an error (e-seat assign) every time regardless of whether I auto allocate a seat or attempt to choose my own.

I missed my bus from Biarritz to Pamplona last and ended up kipping in a bush by the airport. Knackered . Hope to get to Madrid by tonight.

Look out for a couple of pairs of boxes to tick, both need doing. Didn't work for me either at first but worked it out second time around.

I did see those & tried it with them checked & un-checked but no difference. It’s now saying I can’t check in because it’s less than 4 hours until departure even though the flight isn’t until 0730 Hrs tomorrow!

Glad to hear you sorted it out in the end!

If your sister used a MasterCard or a American Express you should have travel insurance included. Depending on the card type and teir of the card I’d definitely look into the possibility of getting them to cover the extra cost with your new flights.

The option to check in for the outbound flight has now gone completely (saying it’s less than 4hrs away) & it’s let me check in for the return leg so I think there was some issue with the outbound flight that was preventing it from working.....guess we’ll just have to get there a bit earlier tomorrow & queue up!

Just check that they haven’t changed the time of your flight like mine. It was only 10min early my new one but had a different ref number etc so if you have to accept the change first then check in your new flight and yes use the app it’s so easy you can just scan your passport and it fills everything for you autoshit it’s great app!
