It's always been the best league, there was just a weird decade when the rest of us stopped looking.

It's been a one horse race of a league for most years so people gave up on it + the shitty atmosphere at the grounds doesn't help

international rights for it were sold for double the previous amount last week which bodes well, only Italy and England has 5/6 very good teams

if you’ve been to an Italian game you’d know why it’s so shitty, have to give passport details on the ticket and a couple of passport checks at the ground

Icardi really is in his prime right now. Elite.

But can't get a start for his country, same as Dybala. Strange days indeed.

That Argentina national team has one of the best attacking players in the squad if not the best, too bad their midfield and defense sucks.

Back to the topic, Napoli plays Inter at home this weekend. If they win, it will be a huge statement for them. Also, how the hell does Montella still have a job after failing that badly with the quality he has?

Way too soon to judge Montella. He has a whole new squad, that's usually a recipe for disaster... and since this is Italy, he probably won't last the season.

But can't get a start for his country, same as Dybala. Strange days indeed.

Dybala looks like he's playing more regularly now. I wonder if he suffers from not having much of a career in Argentina before moving to Europe. He only played 2nd Division football in Argentina. Read a few times that South American players who don't have a profile in their own country before moving to Europe sometimes find it difficult to break into the national team. They are basically off the radar of the national teams fans and their press. Or it at least takes them longer to get noticed and get some momentum behind them.

Same could be said for Icardi. He was brought up in Spain so has never played domestic football in Argentina. Read somewhere that Icardi is an unpopular player/person in Argentina. Mainly down to him goosing another player's Wife and her being famous TV personality in Argentina.

I suppose when you have the likes of Higuian, Messi, Aguero etc you can also be a bit picky. Not an absolute given that anyone beyond Messi should start.

I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Yeah there were rumours for a long time that Messi didn't want him included due to that situation, Messi apparently close to Maxi Lopez.

With the striker debate.. I can understand players like Dybala, Aguero, Icardi being left out for each other but for Benedetto is mad. Hopefully there's a change there before the World Cup cause I want Messi to have the best chance possible to win.

Would love to see Napoli win this weekend now, should be a great game.

Is Benevento possibly the worst team that ever played in Serie A? 9 matches played and lost all 9. 2 goals scored in 9 matches and conceded 20 (and counting).

Amazing how unbelievably tight the top of the table is so far in Serie A. And yet Milan, who spent a ton in the window, are nowhere to be seen on that list. Also Benevento are looking like they will go down as one of the worst teams ever in Serie A history. Eleven games, all losses and only four goals scored.

Absolutely crazy how many goals Immobile is scoring this season. If he hadn't had such a poor time after he left Torino he would have lots more of the top teams looking at him because he scored 20 odd league goals last season too.
