Loads of hints that McLaren will go back to an orange livery.
They said that last time... they didn't then ...

The black isn't nice though, would love to see the back off it.

(Although given how slow they are, almost everyone does see the back of a McLaren when they are lapping them ).

With the name changing from "MP4-whatever" to the new MCL-32, and really pushing that this is a change, a new McLaren without Ron, I wouldnt be surprised if they did go for an orange livery. Would be brilliant to see.

Makes some sense. They've not been sponsored by Marlboro for a very long time and without Ron I guess it's not 'project 4' any more either.

Jost Capito has left McLaren after just 5 months. Seems to have been some disagreements about what it's going to take to be successful again.

That's what they said but I was under the impression he was a Ron Dennis man and therefore they want rid.

Allison confirmed at Mercedes. The strong get stronger - he's very, very good.

Lowe at Williams will be interesting. Can he use the power he's been given (taking Patrick Head's shares, I believe) to get the back up front consistently or will it be another 4-year cycle with a good year followed by regression to the midfield?

I know there were personal reasons why he left, but seriously Ferrari dropped the ball when they let him go, and the fact that Mercedes have signed him up so quickly just reinforces that.

I always thought there were FIA rules that stopped the direct transfer of technical staff between teams. Some sort of enforced paid gardening leave. Unless he's been away from Maranello for so long that Ferrari doesn't see it as a threat.

Won't Bottas be more of a challenge than Rosberg?  There's a case to be made that he could be anyway..

As for Mercedes dominance, I don't think we can assume it will continue in such a dominant fashion after the rule changes..

It might, but I think there's a good chance that power will shift (at least a little anyway).

I think its yet to be seen with Bottas, hes clearly a talented racer, but his time at Williams against Massa might suggest hes not quite at the level Rosberg was at, and certainly not on Hamiltons. Rosberg keeps talking about the effort he needed to put in, just to take the fight to Hamilton for one season, and even then he needed the rub of the green. I think until youre in that situation, you dont know how hard it is to battle a WDC teammate, and Bottas might struggle initially with it.

Also have to remember that the Merc team is basically now moulded around Hamilton, hes been there 4 years, knows the entire team inside and out, hes their star man, will have been involved in car development etc. Bottas will have to get up to speed with the team and the new car, and sometimes that puts a driver on the back foot, but again we will have to wait and see.

For me, I think a lot of people have put Bottas' talent down. Hes a consistent, strong driver and appears to be more naturally gifted in terms of wheel to wheel racing than Rosberg was, which should put him in a good starting position against the supremely fast, but occasionally inconsistent Hamilton.

I think this season, unless Merc have somehow produced a dog of a car, Hamilton will likely beat Bottas on both fronts. Id predict him to dominate him in qualifying, but not so much in terms of finishing position. Just hope Red Bull bring the fight and we have a proper 4 way battle for a title.

Doesn't look all that different to me other than the stubbier rear wing. Perhaps Williams have been conservative. I'm expecting Newey to have pulled something spectacular out of the hat again.

they had some good looking cars down the years.

some of the early ones looked like red bulls. they were the first team to be sponsored by red bull.

the BMW saubers were beasty looking!

also liked some of the cars from early millenium. the 2012 car was pretty cool looking. always remember Sergio Perez in Monza that year, one of the best drive i ever saw

I like the livery. Lots online comparing it to the old Rothmans cars.

Having last years Ferrari spec engine in should make them a bit more competitive.

Hope those sharkfins dont just become extra advertising space.

Nice looking car from Sauber.

I'm surprised they struggle for advertising, coming from a wealthy country like Switzerland and the only Swiss team in the paddock you would think they could get some big sponsorship especially from some banks over there and such.

This old Sauber was stunning.

The front wings are almost becoming too intricate for my liking.  It's one of the parts of the car that really adds to the aesthetic of the sport.

I understand that this Renault isn't a real car.

As of the end of last week, I believe only the rear brakes and wheel hubs were actually completed...
